Wat Prang Luang

"Wat Prang Luang" is assumed to have built the prang at the same time as the temple. The prang is located between the ordination hall and the small chapel. It is made of brick and soil with a seven-tiered spire, with ten-sided corners and decorated with stucco patterns. The chedi chamber has niches leading the way in all four directions. It houses a standing Buddha image in the alms-carrying posture. The prang is in a very damaged condition. At present, the prang is leaning due to subsidence. An excavation has been made in the middle of the chedi chamber, revealing a crypt inside, but there is no way to the top. The walls of the chedi chamber are solid walls with no doors. The base is not visible in its original condition. The principal Buddha image in the old ordination hall, named Luang Pho U Thong, was destroyed in 1993 due to lack of appreciation. It is an U Thong style art. It is a stucco Buddha image covered in gold leaf in the Mara-Vijaya posture, 9 cubits wide. The sema stones are large and have no patterns, planted in the ground in the shape of sema stones. It was destroyed at the same time as the old ordination hall. At present, only one remains. The small chapel is assumed to have been built at the same time as the prang.
