Wat Sangkhathan Wat Sangkhathan is believed to have originally been called Wat Sarikho. It was built during the late Ayutthaya period. It has Luang Pho To, a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, as the principal Buddha image, but later it became a deserted temple. So the villagers had to invite monks from nearby areas to offer alms to the monks, which led to its popular name, "Wat Sangkhathan". In 1968, Luang Pho Sanong Katapunyo came to practice meditation and renovated the temple. But the villagers did not trust him, because Luang Pho Sanong had been on a pilgrimage in the forest for many years. The villagers thought he was a communist because he had been in the forest for a long time. However, as time passed, more and more people began to practice Dhamma according to Luang Pho Sanong's teachings. With Luang Pho Sanong's strict practices, such as eating only one meal a day, not touching money, and following the Nesachak guideline, the relatives and followers believed in him and began to observe the precepts and practice Dhamma according to Luang Pho's teachings more and more until today. This temple is a place where you can practice meditation in the octagonal glass chapel or do evening prayers and listen to sermons at the Dharma Square every day. Therefore, it is suitable for resting the mind. Or if anyone wants to practice mindfulness and concentration to be strong, you can come here. But this is considered a forest temple. It may not be very convenient.
