Located in the center of the Tokachi Plain, famous for its dairy products, Obihiro is the fifth most populous city in Hokkaido. The town is tranquil and has a wide variety of gourmet foods. The specialty pork bowl is fragrant and satisfying, and all of the sweets at Rokkatei were impressive with their refined sweetness. Another place I'll never forget is Obihiro's moor hot springs. The unique dark brown water, which contains many plant-derived ingredients, made my skin feel silky smooth. Furthermore, Obihiro's unique "Ban'ei horse racing" is a thrilling sport in which giant horses pull heavy iron sleds and power their way through a sandy course, making you want to cheer them on.
