Thapai Bridge

The Tha Pai Historical Bridge is located on Highway 1095 at kilometer 88 before entering Pai town. This bridge is considered the gateway to Pai District. This bridge was built during World War II by the Japanese army to cross the Pai River and transport supplies and weapons to Burma. After World War II ended, Pai District returned to peace once again, leaving only this bridge, which is called the "Historic Bridge". In the past, this bridge was made of wood, but after the war, this wooden bridge was burned down and rebuilt using the steel bridge from Nawarat Bridge, which was the original in Chiang Mai Province. The historical bridge is still of interest to tourists visiting Pai District regularly because it is considered another landmark of Pai that should not be missed.
