Six-fingered Father 🙏🏼 Faith and Dharma riddles

Pay respect to Luang Pho Hok Niw 🙏🏼 𝐔𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐢 ✨ _____________________ #Luang Pho Hok Niw (Buddha's Foot Finger) or Phra Hiw Nok (a rhyming word that locals call it) It is a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude. The outside is covered with plaster and then lacquered and gilded. It is believed that it came from the abandoned Huasanam Temple, which is located behind #Wat Yai Suwannaram 🌴 No one knew that the inside of the Buddha statue was metal. They probably thought it was just an ordinary plaster Buddha. There is only a significant inherited saying that "Wat Yai has a monk carrying a bird". Carrying a bird means the right toe is 6 fingers that are more than normal. It is a riddle of Dhamma that there are 6 fingers because it represents the ears, eyes, nose, tongue, body, mind, and the inner senses to touch and perceive defilements. It is also a trick of the ancients that has hidden meanings, referring to the cement that is applied to the Buddha image that hides valuable things inside...but the later generations did not understand this trick. 🌿 Later, the metal inside became green and the rust pushed the cement apart, making it known that the inside of the Buddha image was metal. The religious demons found out, so they sneaked in and cut off the Buddha image's head, causing great sadness to the Buddhists of Phetchaburi. Later, they molded a new Buddha head, connected it to the original Buddha image, and restored it with lacquer and gold leaf. Currently, #LuangPhoSokNiew is enshrined on a pedestal base behind the principal Buddha image. In front, there is a wooden board connected as a bridge so that Buddhists can conveniently go in and pay homage. Many people in Phetchaburi Province believe that Luang Pho Hok Niw is sacred and has supernatural powers that can help inspire and dispel suffering that occurs to the villagers. He also gives good fortune to the villagers who come to pay homage to him regularly. Some people have lawsuits, have been cheated, and have not received justice. When they come to pay homage to him, he will help them escape from such suffering...which is truly amazing beyond words. #Luang Pho Hok Niw 🙏🏼 📍 Location: Wat Yai Suwanna Ram 88 Phong Suriya Road, Tha Rap Subdistrict, Mueang Phetchaburi District https://maps.app.goo.gl/KwAj5jKCLRaEDHqc7?g_st=a #Get a discount without relying on luck #Phetchaburi attractions #Thai temples #Spiritual attractions #Beautiful photography attractions

Wat Yai Suwannaram

#culturetrip Wat Yai Suwannaram is a royal temple. The temple was renovated significantly during the reign of King Rama IV. The ordination hall is in the Ayutthaya style with 5-tiered paintings of guardian angels and murals. The highlight is the image of giants and inhuman beings with flesh-colored faces, not the usual mask-like drawings. The principal Buddha image is a stucco Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, a cast of the Sangkharat Tangmo. The pediment is a beautiful late Ayutthaya sculpture that looks like it's alive. The covered chapel and sala, Wat Yai Suwannaram, are in the late Ayutthaya architecture. They were built of wood with walls made of plaster and covered with gold lacquer. However, the renovation was wrong, so the entire building was painted red. The roof is a decorated frame with rafters and roofed with tiles. However, due to the incorrect renovation, the entire roof was covered with mortar (ancient mortar). However, the mortar was made of straw, which made it damp and caused lichen to grow on the roof. The original sala belonged to Prince Khwan Tamnak, later Phra Sanphet VIII or King Suea. It was dismantled and presented to the Supreme Patriarch Tangmo, with a beautifully carved door panel that is historically and artistically significant, namely the late Ayutthaya period art. There are marks on the door panel, causing the door to crack and become permanently damaged, called Burmese teeth marks. However, scholars have commented that the door was likely destroyed when the palace was dismantled and presented to Somdet Chao Tangmo (Phra Suwannamuni), the Supreme Patriarch. This is related to the story of the spirit of Chao Fa Phra Khwan, the owner of the original palace, who was executed by King Suea with a sandalwood club when Somdet Phra Phetracha was ill and near death. You can make merit and visit this valuable place every day. #culturetrip
