Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, worship the Phra Buddha Chinnarat

#VisitSecondaryCities 🙏Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan or Wat Yai is located on the eastern bank of the Nan River. It is a first-class royal temple built at the same time as the city was built in 1900. The large principal Buddha image in the chapel is “Phra Phuttha Chinnarat”, which the people of Phitsanulok like to call “Luang Pho Yai”. Sacred objects that should be worshipped in the temple include: 🙏Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, cast from bronze, with beautiful features, graceful outer lines, arched eyebrows, flame-shaped crown, and hands with all four fingers of equal length. 🏰The glass pavilion is made of carved wood, built in the Ayutthaya period, carved in the shape of a makara (a dragon-like body with a trunk like an elephant) at the end of the pavilion, and a crocodile-like hawk in the middle, with two Asura gods protecting the Buddha image. 🙏Phra Maha Thammaracha I (Phaya Lithai) of Sukhothai ordered the construction at the same time as Phra Phuttha Chinnasi and Phra Si Satsada. 🙏Phra Phuttha Chinnasi and Phra Si Satsada 🙏Phra Lueang, Phraya Lithai ordered the craftsmen to bring the remaining bronze scraps from the creation of Phra Phuttha Chinnasi and Phra Si Satsada to cast into a small Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture and 2 more standing disciples to be enshrined in the Phra Lueang Wihan. 🏰Wihan Phra Chao Khao Nipphan or Wihan Klaep or Wihan Luang Sam Phi Nong Inside the Wihan, there is a large seated Buddha statue. In the center of the Wihan, there is a coffin in the posture of the Lord entering Nipphan, set on a beautifully carved pedestal. 🙏Phra Attharot, a standing Buddha statue in the posture of forbidding relatives behind the Wihan, was built at the same time as Phra Phuttha Chinnarat. It was originally enshrined in the main Wihan, but the Wihan has completely collapsed, leaving only the laterite pillars. 🛕The main prang, early Ayutthaya art, square base with twenty-sided recessed corners, was originally a pagoda in the shape of a rice bundle in the true Sukhothai style.
