Chao Sam Phraya National Museum The Ayutthaya Museum opened in 1957 and was originally used to display antiques and artworks discovered in the underground palace of Wat Ratchaburana. Now these cultural relics are all on display in the "Boutique Hall". Because the cultural relics all come from royal temples, it is also called the "Gold Museum" and is filled with gold. The museum’s most important antiques include a golden dagger measuring 115 cm long and 5.5 cm wide, from the Ayutthaya period, which was unearthed from the underground chamber of Wat Ratchaburana. The golden Phra Tao Thatak is 2.7 cm in diameter and 18.5 cm in height. It dates from the Ayutthaya period and was unearthed from the underground palace of Wat Ratchaburana.
