Mount Kailash (Gang Rinpoche)

Mount Kailash (Gang Rinpoche), located in Burang County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, is the main peak of the Gangdise Mountains, with an elevation of approximately 6,638 meters. It is considered a sacred place by Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism, Bon, and Jainism, and is believed to be the center of the world, especially by Tibetan Buddhists and Hindus. Every year, many pilgrims travel to Mount Kailash to circumambulate the mountain, believing that one circuit can cleanse sins and bring blessings. The circumambulation route is about 52 kilometers long, at high altitude, and in a harsh environment, but it holds significant religious meaning for pilgrims. In addition, the magnificent natural landscape of Mount Kailash attracts many tourists and mountaineers, but climbing is prohibited due to its religious significance.
