Mount Kailash Spiritual Trekking

Mount Kailash, covered in snow and ice year-round, has a unique angular shape resembling a finely cut gem. Located in western Tibet, its peak rises to an impressive height of 22,020 feet (6,600 meters). The name 'Kailash' originates from Sanskrit, meaning 'Mount Meru,' which is believed in legends to be the center of the universe. It is said that the sun, moon, and stars revolve around it, surrounded by rings of seven continents and seven oceans. The four sides of Mount Meru are connected by peaks made of gold, crystal, blue lapis lazuli, and ruby. In Tibetan, it is called 'Gang Ties,' meaning 'glacier,' a name derived from the ancient Zhang Zhung language of a Central Asian kingdom believed to have its heart near Mount Kailash. Tibetan Buddhists of the Bon tradition believe that Tonpa Shenrap Miwoche, an incarnation of Buddha Shakyamuni, was born near Mount Kailash. Other Tibetan sects hold that Chakrasambhara (Buddha Demchok), a significant Yidam deity, resides here. Tibetans believe that circumambulating the mountain in prayer 108 times is the highest form of worship, leading to nirvana. Thus, Mount Kailash is revered as a sacred mountain, the center of the universe, and a gathering place for deities and sacred entities from various religions, harmoniously without conflict.
