Spring in Queenstown: Lakes, Peaks & Adventure

Queenstown, New Zealand, in late September offers the best of both worlds—spring blossoms in the town and snow still on the mountains. We walked the Queenstown Gardens, where tulips and cherry blossoms surrounded Lake Wakatipu. The air was fresh, the skies brilliantly blue, and the energy in town was alive. In one day, we hiked to Bob’s Peak and took a jet boat ride through Shotover River’s turquoise waters. Spring is shoulder season, so prices are better, and the crowds fewer.
