Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – Shira Cathedral 🗻

#aprilblooms Shira Cathedral on Kilimanjaro’s western flank was epic. The volcanic plateau feels like another planet, and the views toward Cathedral Point are worth every step. It’s part of the Shira Route, less crowded and longer but scenic. The trail starts at 3400m elevation reaching the Cathedral Point / Shira Peak at 3872m. It is possible to do it as a day hike, which would take around 6-8 hours depending on your fitness level. Tip: Go slow and hydrate—altitude is no joke.
