Five EDITION Hotels in Europe

I'm definitely not the first person to stay at all five EDITION hotels in Europe, but I haven't seen anyone else post about it, so here's a brief summary. EDITION is my favorite brand. Although the designs are somewhat uniform, I love the modern, wood-focused decor. I personally think the quality is far better than the pictures suggest. The best common area is undoubtedly in Madrid. The lobby beyond the spiral staircase is simply unparalleled. It's the best lobby I've ever seen. And you must visit its bar and restaurant; they are truly dreamy. The worst goes to Barcelona. The difference within the same country is huge. The common area is too crowded, and I don't even recall seeing signature features like a pool table. The spiral staircase is also very small. As a side note, the common area in Iceland has an aurora wall and a fireplace, London's has an old-money feel, and Rome's is small but beautiful and very EDITION. My favorite guest room is in the Rome EDITION. The quality is excellent. In the nearly 40-degree Celsius Roman heat, the room was so cold I was shivering. The toilet is adorable, and there are both USB and USB-C ports. The bedding is extremely comfortable. Madrid comes in second. These two also had the largest rooms I stayed in. Iceland's was a bit too simple, but the quality was still good. Barcelona had the smallest room, and London's felt a bit old. The best facilities are undoubtedly in Iceland. The downstairs baths and hot springs were my absolute favorite. I estimate I spent at least three or four hours in there. It was so comfortable, and it's completely free for guests. Rome comes in second, with a huge gym featuring all the latest Technogym equipment. The other three were somewhat lacking in this regard, although I didn't actually use the gyms. Overall, I recommend Madrid, Reykjavik, and Rome. Of course, these three are probably also quite expensive. I recall them all being pricey, so some might not be essential visits, especially Barcelona. I also didn't think much of the W there. The Iceland EDITION is a must-visit, simply because it's the only one there. Madrid and Rome have many options, so you can choose according to your preferences. Finally, across all these hotels, the service was impeccable. I don't even think it was inferior to brands like LC or Ritz-Carlton. So, I'll say it again: The Shanghai EDITION had the worst service I've ever encountered, bar none.
