Don't forget those who dug the well

Outside Ruijin City, there is a village called Shazhouba, where Chairman Mao lived when he led the revolution in Jiangxi. There was no well in the village, and the villagers had to go far to fetch water. Chairman Mao led the soldiers and villagers to dig a well. After liberation, the villagers erected a stone tablet beside the well, which read: "Don't forget those who dug the well, always remember Chairman Mao." Everyone has read this text. In April 1933, after Mao Zedong moved from Yeping to Shazhouba with the Provisional Central Government, he found that the people in this place had great difficulty in drinking water. In order to prevent the people from drinking dirty pond water for a long time, Mao Zedong personally surveyed the underground water source. One day in September, he led cadres, Red Army officers and soldiers, and local people to dig this well. After the main force of the Red Army went on the Long March, the Kuomintang army repeatedly filled the well with sand and stones, and the people of Shazhouba fought tenaciously to protect the well. In 1950, the people of Ruijin repaired the well to welcome the arrival of the Central South Old Revolutionary Base Area Consolation Group, and named it "Red Well", which is now a national key cultural relic protection unit. ⏳Time to play: The ticket price is CNY 25, and the sightseeing bus is charged separately.
