Free Travel to Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia

On the sixth day of our free travel to Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, we returned from Kinabalu National Park to Kota Kinabalu (KK City). This day was designed to be relaxing, allowing us to unwind after the challenge of climbing Mount Kinabalu and prepare for the next leg of our journey. Car Return and Grab Ride Experience The drive from Kinabalu Park back to Kota Kinabalu takes approximately 2.5 hours, offering scenic views that once again showcase the natural beauty of Sabah. Upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu, we first dropped off Mrs. Han and our luggage at the hotel before I headed to the airport to return the rental car. Although there were minor hiccups during the car return process, overall, the service provided by Keddy by Europcar was satisfactory. After returning the car, I used the Grab app to book a ride from the airport to the hotel. Grab is a popular ride-hailing service in Southeast Asia, known for its user-friendly interface, transparent pricing, and support for both cash and credit card payments. The ride from the airport to the hotel took only about 10 minutes and cost approximately RM5 (around NT$35), making it a very affordable option. Pacific Sutera Hotel Sea View Suite We stayed at the Pacific Sutera Hotel, a five-star hotel located on a man-made island. The hotel boasts facilities such as a golf course, marina, spa, and swimming pool. Our accommodation was a sea view suite, featuring a spacious and comfortable room with stunning views of the ocean, which instantly lifted our spirits. After checking in, we changed into swimwear and headed to the pool to relax. Playing in the pool and enjoying the sunshine and sea breeze quickly washed away our fatigue. Lying on a deck chair and gazing at the distant ocean felt like being in a vacation paradise. Cafe Boleh Asian Buffet Dinner For dinner, we chose to dine at Cafe Boleh in the hotel, which offers an Asian buffet. The restaurant features a wide variety of dishes, including Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Western cuisines, catering to all our taste preferences. The sunset view from the restaurant, with its orange-red glow reflecting on the sea and the distant islands and yachts adding to the scenery, made our dinner truly unforgettable. Conclusion The sixth day of our trip allowed us to relax and enjoy the beauty and cuisine of Kota Kinabalu after the challenge of Mount Kinabalu. Through the experiences of returning the rental car and using Grab, we became more familiar with local transportation and appreciated the convenience of smartphone applications in Southeast Asia. Staying in the sea view suite at the Pacific Sutera Hotel added a touch of perfection to our journey.
