A Thrilling Wooden Bridge Where History and Nature Intersect

Located in Kanchanaburi Province in western Thailand, the "Tham Krasae Wooden Bridge" is part of the infamous Death Railway built during World War II under the command of the former Japanese army. Allied prisoners of war and Asian laborers were forced to construct this railway. The wooden bridge spans approximately 300 meters and features an S-shaped curve that hugs the cliffside along the Khwae Noi River. Remarkably, trains still pass over this bridge today. When trains approach the bridge, they slow down to a speed of 5 km/h, offering passengers a thrilling experience. From the train windows, visitors can observe the cliffside that was blasted during construction and enjoy the serene views of the Khwae Noi River.
