【Otowayama】 One of the Kansai's 100 Famous Mountains.

🏖️Overview: Otowayama⛰️ stands at an elevation of 851m, with neighboring Kyogazukayama⛰️ at 889m and Kumagatake⛰️ at 904m. Collectively, these three peaks are known as "Otowa Three Mountains," offering enjoyable hiking experiences. Located in central Nara Prefecture, this area is rich in historical sites and legends, including the story of Emperor Jimmu's eastern expedition📖. Among the three, Otowayama is the largest, featuring a long north-south summit that provides a panoramic view👀 of the Nara Basin. 💞Recommended Highlights: This time, we explored the circular trail. While the road leading to the parking lot🅿️ narrows slightly towards the end, driving is not a concern. Start by heading to Kannonji卍 Temple. The initial path to the temple is a steep concrete road. Upon reaching the temple, you'll find restroom facilities🚽 available. From there, the trail is well-maintained and easy to hike, with several rest areas🍵 along the way. The Otowayama Observatory🏬, located midway, offers the best views and is a great spot for enjoying your packed lunch🍱. However, the views from the summit and other areas are less impressive.
