There are two main routes to get to the Samoeng Rice Research Center from Chiang Mai city: 1. Mae Rim District Route: Starting from Chiang Mai city, take Highway No. 107 towards Mae Rim District. Then turn onto Highway No. 1096 heading to Samoeng District. This route is popular because it is convenient and takes less time. However, be careful while driving because the road is winding along the mountains. 2. Route through Hang Dong District: Start from Chiang Mai city, take Highway No. 108 heading to Hang Dong District, then turn onto Highway No. 1269 heading to Samoeng District. This route is approximately 40 kilometers long and takes about 1 hour. When entering Samoeng District, look for the sign "Samoeng Rice Research Center" which is located on the right hand side just before reaching the district. For those who do not have a private car, you can use a public bus from the bus stop at Waroros Market (Kad Luang) by asking for directions to Samoeng Tai District. When the car arrives at the entrance to Samoeng District (at the Pom intersection), look on the right hand side and you will see the sign for Samoeng Rice Research Center clearly on the left hand side and Nittaya Farm (Lychee Farm). You can tell the driver to park the car at that point. Advice: Be careful while driving because the road is winding and mountainous.
