Siam Most Amazing Spot

#bangkoktrip The Ancient City or Ancient Siam is the world's largest open-air museum park. The main architectural masterpieces of ancient Siam and neighboring Southeast Asian countries have been recreated on an area exceeding 130 hectares. Construction began in 1963 and continues to this day. Unlike the Mini Siam miniature Park, the exhibits reproduce the originals in full size or on a scale of 1:3, and they can be viewed not only from the outside, but also from the inside, since the interiors are also made with a high degree of detail. The unique complex provides an opportunity to see the main attractions of the kingdom gathered in one place in one visit. The territory follows the contours of Thailand within modern borders, and all cultural heritage sites are located on the cardinal directions where they geographically were in the past or are currently located. The replicas are divided by historical periods: Lopburi, Lanna, Ayutthaya, Sukhkotai, Tonburi, Rattanakosin. Myang Boran's mission is to preserve the national heritage of Thailand so that locals and foreigners can get acquainted with the pearls of architecture located in different provinces or already disappeared. Among the copies of famous monuments of Thai culture there are restored buildings with authentic fragments found during archaeological excavations. In addition to the models that repeat the real-life originals, buildings have been built that have not been there for a long time: for example, the royal palace in Ayutthaya, completely destroyed by the troops of Burma in 1767. Reconstruction was carried out with the participation of specialists from the National Museum. To achieve absolute accuracy, the authors of the project consulted ancient drawings and relied on information in the annals. Replicas of temples, stupas and other religious buildings are interspersed with buildings for household and household purposes. Retrospective architectural forms and elements coexist with traditional dwellings filled with various household items. For example, towers on stilts for storing manuscripts have been recreated, a fishing village, a floating market, an apothecary's shop, a spinning workshop and a farmer's house have been built, where buffaloes, goats, cows and other domestic animals are kept (they can be fed). Canals have been dug in the vast garden and park area, waterfalls, lakes and ponds have been created, trees have been planted and numerous gazebos have been built for recreation.
