When Kru Ba Siwichai learned of its ancient history and sacredness, he restored and renovated it, building a chapel to cover the reclining Buddha. It is the largest reclining Buddha in Chiang Mai and is very sacred. Inside the temple, there is also an ancient folk museum that collects many donations and displays them in a cabinet in the reclining Buddha chapel.
