This hotel is a must-stay in Shanghai, great value for money!

University student review of the Shanghai Hongta Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel The Shanghai Hongta Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel is located at 889 Dongfang Road, in the cultural, entertainment, and business center of Pudong. Price Deluxe King Room CNY 470 (Pudong Travel Voucher + Enjoy Shanghai Accommodation Voucher) Check-in The front desk was quick and efficient! The concierge was very professional! Although we had a lot of luggage, the two bellboys were very enthusiastic and helped us take our luggage to the room. 1. Room type: Executive Deluxe King Room (upgrade) 2. Size: 48m2 3. Decor: The room was standard, with a vintage feel. The room was small, with a low ceiling, the hardware was poorly maintained, the cleaning was average, and the bedside table was dusty. 4. Room service Due to the large number of guests, service was slow, and it took more than half an hour for items to be delivered. When delivering the welcome fruit, the staff opened the door and entered the room without waiting for a response after knocking. The turndown service was sloppy, and the trash can was not emptied. 5. View: The room was on the back side of the three towers, so there was no view, just a high floor. Executive Lounge The lounge is located on the top floor of the hotel, with a unique two-story spiral staircase design, and a partial view of the three towers. There were a lot of people!!! The low price attracted a lot of cardholders, and it was normal to queue for food during happy hour. The food was standard, and refills were timely, but due to the large number of people, the experience was average. Breakfast We were in a hurry and didn't have breakfast. Facilities The subway station is a short walk from the hotel, but all the main lines are nearby, so it's convenient to get to other places. Overall experience: 4.2 Due to the low price and vouchers, and to check in at a Luxury Collection hotel, the Shanghai Hongta Hotel is worth a try. However, the overall experience was standard, so if you're looking for a luxurious experience, this hotel is not recommended! Although the hotel brand is positioned as luxury, apart from the Twinings tea bags and the Byredo toiletries, there wasn't even a coffee machine! The hotel sent an email in advance to ask about our needs, but there was no response after we replied. The hotel is always full, and it is said that it will be rebranded as a Marriott early next year, so if you want to check in at the last Luxury Collection hotel in Shanghai, you should hurry! (If you want to collect room cards, you may be disappointed, as the room card type is shown in the picture, and they are all custom-made by the brand, with no unique features.)
