The most beautiful library in Shanghai, Xujiahui Academy, and the Gothic-style Xujiahui Church

Before leaving the house in the morning, I asked my husband what the itinerary was. He said we were going to Xujiahui, a famous tourist attraction in Shanghai. When I first heard it, I was full of questions, but then I remembered that one of my high school classmates was also named Xu Jiahui XD. Xujiahui (also known as Xuhui District) is a well-known commercial center and one of the four sub-centers and ten major business districts in Shanghai. There are many department stores, restaurants, and cinemas in this area. The most famous ones are Xujiahui Academy, Xujiahui Church, and Xu Guangqi Memorial Hall. You are not allowed to wear hats with brims, tops with exposed skin, high heels, or shorts when entering the Xujiahui Church. Staff will be outside to let you know if you can or cannot enter. The church was built in 1896, the 22nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty. It is a Gothic-style building and was once known as the largest cathedral in the Far East. It was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution and was used for other purposes. It was renovated and restored to its religious function in 1979. The church was announced as a Shanghai cultural relic protection site and Shanghai's outstanding historical building on September 25, 1989, and was later announced as a national key cultural relic protection site on March 5, 2013. #GlobalTravel
