Nature and the essence of life

Every time I visit the studio gallery, I always find new highlights in the exhibitions. This time, the "Distance from Nature" exhibition features three artists who use natural plants and landscapes as the medium for their paintings. Through their different working methods and choices of materials, they present different paths to reproducing nature, and also "coordinate" their respective distances from nature. Nature, as a medium, is not only the flowers, birds, and trees of the external world, but also a profound interaction between the artist and the external environment. Take a closer look at Shi Xiang's "Cotton" series, which originated from sketches of cotton. It is clearly not a copy of cotton, but under the seemingly casual brushstrokes, the shadow of "cotton" can be vaguely traced. The most touching aspect of Zhai Xuanhong's work is the poetic presentation of light. In the process of the light source behind the picture changing from dark to bright, the natural objects in the picture also undergo a process from nothing to something. Yang Yijia takes the landscape experiences in dreams and travel as inspiration, and the gaps between reality and illusion are filled with poetic space...
