The actual experience had its satisfying aspects, but also some minor regrets. 💰️Cost per person During the Chinese New Year period, when similar hotels were priced at 4,000 to 5,000, the Pearl River View Room at this hotel was less than 2,000, offering excellent value for money. It's a good choice for travelers seeking high cost performance and views of the Bund; however, if you have a larger budget and are looking for a more luxurious experience, there might be better options. 🏘️️️Room Type/Layout The hotel is divided into East and West Towers. The West Tower is recommended, as it offers views of the iconic Shanghai skyline. The room layout is standard, but the interior decor is relatively simple, appearing somewhat plain compared to some more ornately decorated hotels. While there is a bathtub, the space feels a bit cramped. The room size is moderate, meeting basic living needs, but there aren't many highlights in terms of decoration and facility layout. 🛌Amenities/Facilities The room is equipped with basic amenities, but the TV is small, the quality of the toiletries doesn't quite match five-star hotel standards, and the slippers are thin. However, the hotel's location is superb, situated in North Bund. A 3-minute walk to the left leads to the North Bund Riverside Green Space, while a 5-minute walk to the right takes you to the Waibaidu Bridge, making it convenient for sightseeing. There's a rooftop bar with free access for guests (there may be restrictions during special events), and the breakfast is quite extensive. 🧹Soundproofing/Cleanliness The soundproofing is excellent, effectively blocking outside noise and ensuring a quiet resting environment. The cleanliness is also good, with both the rooms and public areas kept tidy, providing peace of mind for guests. 💗Other tips 1. Service Experience: You may encounter service issues during check-in, such as being ignored upon entering or experiencing long check-in times. During the Chinese New Year period, there was a shortage of guest services staff, resulting in longer wait times for deliveries. However, some guests reported that the overall service met basic needs and wasn't a major issue. 2. Dining Experience: The breakfast is plentiful, but expect queues after 8:30 am during peak seasons like Chinese New Year. The noodles and lamb soup were particularly well-received. 3. Nearby Attractions: There are numerous attractions nearby. The North Bund Riverside Green Space offers many photogenic spots, such as the "Little Dome" and cafes. The Waibaidu Bridge is also close by, with the Bund just across the bridge. While the subway is a ten-minute walk away, taxis are readily available.
