As soon as you're seated, the friendly staff will offer you warm tea and patiently recommend their signature dishes. Shunji's signature braised pork belly instantly evokes collective memories. The glistening amber-colored pork, coated in a rich sauce, offers a melt-in-your-mouth texture with a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. It's an absolute delight, leaving a lingering fragrance. As we savored each bite, we joked about who used to be the biggest meat lover. The dry shallot, asparagus, and sea tiger prawn stir-fry features enticing golden-red prawns nestled among fragrant dry shallots and crisp-tender asparagus. The prawns are firm, fresh, and sweet, with a hint of wok hei. Each bite is a burst of freshness, instantly activating "clean plate mode." The Taizhou rice cakes with braised yellow croaker is another must-try. The yellow croaker, soaked in flavorful broth, is tender, delicious, and melts in your mouth. The rice cakes, infused with the fish broth, are soft, chewy, and subtly sweet. We devoured the dish, even mixing the remaining broth with rice.
