Shanghai is a city with a “modern, high-class, but still classic” feel. If Tokyo gives you a futuristic feel, Shanghai gives you a “rich, stylish, and cool Chinese” feel. When I first got there, I was like… wow, tall buildings lined up like they were competing to be taller. It’s even brighter at night. The lights on the bridge and the lights on the buildings reflecting the Huangpu River are so beautiful that you have to take hundreds of photos. But what’s cool is that the city doesn’t just have a modern side. There’s also an old side, like the old brick streets and the old town where you can walk around and find cute tea shops and old people toddling around playing chess. The contrast is just perfect. The food is also amazing—xiao long bao, stir-fried kale, fried buns, black soup noodles. Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. And the people there are cool and classy. They’re fashionable but not over the top. They have an uncompromising sense of style. Do you understand? Another thing is that the subway there runs really fast. The city is chaotic, but it seems to be orderly in its own way. And there’s even a Disneyland! (Zootopia fans must go. If you don't go, you'll miss out.) To summarize, Shanghai is a city that has luxury, old, authentic Chinese, modern, and deliciousness. You will definitely never get bored.
