Breathtaking stone forest in Kunming

Less known, but one of the most authentic and breathtaking places I have ever visited in my life. It is the Stone Forest (Kunming Stone Forest, Shilin in Chinese), a spectacular set of limestone groups and representative of the karst landscape of southern China. Known since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) as the "first wonder of the world", it is one of the most important attractions in Yunnan. You can get there by a bus available from Kunming city, since this attraction is located in a bordering county. It was so fun to get lost in those rocky labyrinths, among which you meet the women and men of the Yi ethnic minority with their colorful clothes and musical art. Then, the waterways, the dense vegetation ... In short, if you pass through Yunnan for Kunming and you don't make a trip here, it's like not having been there.
