Taipei Guest House: A Magnificent Baroque Architecture

Taipei Guest House is located in the Bo'ai Special District of Taipei City, with the address at No. 1, Ketagalan Boulevard. Initially, it served as the Governor-General's residence during the Japanese colonial period and is now used for hosting guests or celebratory events. It is currently listed as a historical monument. Taipei Guest House was originally built in 1899, designed by Japanese architects Rin Miyao and Ichiro Nomura. The renovation in 1911 was designed by Matsunosuke Moriyama, giving it its current appearance. The main building of Taipei Guest House is a typical Western-style mansion. It faces south with balconies on all sides, adorned with double columns and arches.
