Visit the Former Residence of Lee Lin-Chiu.

Lee Lin-Chiu (1909-1979), a native of Taipei, was a lyricist for popular music. Throughout his life, he published over 80 works, with the most famous being 'Longing for the Spring Breeze.' The 'Former Residence of Lee Lin-Chiu' is located at the alley entrance of Xining North Road in Dadaocheng. It was built during the Japanese colonial period at the address of 2-chome, 11-banchi, Minato-machi, and was owned by the family of tea merchant Chen Tianlai. The original building was constructed during the Guangxu 13th year of the Qing Dynasty and was a two-story brick and wood structure. Around Showa 7, it was renovated into an eight-bay, two-story brick shop building on the north side. The south side housed a large tea factory, which was the location of Nanxing Tea Company during the Japanese colonial period and is now the refining factory of Quanxiang Tea Company. The former residence is a representative historical and cultural site. In February 2022, the Former Residence of Lee Lin-Chiu was designated as a municipal historic site, and in November of the same year, restoration work began. The restoration was completed in November 2024, with a total investment of approximately 20 million NTD. 📍Address: No. 4, Lane 86, Xining North Road, Datong District, Taipei City, 103 🕰️Business Hours: Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays Wednesday to Sunday: 10:00–12:00, 13:30–17:00
