Qiongtai Xiangu Scenic Area

Qiongtai Xiangu Scenic Area is located 8 km northwest of Tiantai County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a national 4A-level scenic area, covering an area of 7.3 square kilometers. It is a typical granite geological landscape. ①Natural landscapes: Lingxi Main Scenic Route: Walking north along the stream, the mountain walls on both sides face each other. The mountains are steep and rugged, with numerous grotesque peaks and rocks, and the scenery becomes more and more wondrous as you go deeper. Baxian Lake: The lake water is clear and limpid, surrounded by nine peaks, with reflections of green cliffs, creating a beautiful scene. Longtan Waterfall: A hundred-foot-high white cliff splits, and red walls open around it. The waterfall plunges into the Longtan pool, creating thunderous sounds day and night. The pool below the waterfall is as clear as crystal. Xuankong Corridor: The eaves and roof are like floating clouds, a miraculous creation suspended in mid-air. There are also cliff carvings on the rock wall, such as "Contentment is Mine." Wangxian Bridge: The ancient arched bridge is like a rainbow, simple and elegant. Standing on the bridge, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery on top of Qiongtai Peak. ②Cultural landscapes: Tongbai Palace: A sacred place of Taoism in southeast China. Taoist scriptures refer to Tongbai Palace as "Jinting Dongtian," one of the seventy-two blessed lands. During the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhang Ziyang, the founder of the Ziyang School of the Southern Taoist sect, lived and practiced Taoism here, and wrote the famous "Wuzhen Pian." Qiongtai Peak: There is a stone on the peak shaped like a chair. Legend has it that Tieguai Li, one of the Eight Immortals, would come here to sit and admire the moon every Mid-Autumn Festival night, hence the name "Immortal's Seat." There are also cliff carvings on the peak, such as "Marvelous Spectacle of Taiyue," "Most Beautiful in Taishan," and "Penglai Wonderland." Jinting Cave: The place where Prince Qiao, the crown prince of King Ling of Zhou, cultivated himself. Inside the cave, there is a long-lived divine turtle lying quietly. Above the cave is the Flying Crane Pavilion, commemorating Prince Qiao's ascension on a crane. Ticket price: 65 CNY/person, student ticket 30 CNY, free for children under 1.3m tall, full price for children above 1.3m, 35 CNY/person for seniors over 60, free for active military personnel with valid ID. Opening hours: 8:00–17:00. Tour route: Take the free shuttle bus from the Big Waterfall Visitor Center ticket office to the lower entrance of Qiongtai Xiangu → Covered Bridge Waterfall → Baxian Lake → Xuankong Corridor → Jiufeng Platform → Eight Immortals Preaching → Qiongtai Heavenly Ladder to the summit → Yellow Emperor Altar → Cross Huixian Bridge → Tiantai Mountain Big Waterfall → Lingkong Plank Road → Waterfall Viewing Pavilion → Waterfall Viewing Platform → Hanging Waterfall Thunder → Secluded Valley Cascading Waterfall → Yushuo Flying Stream → Jiulong Lake Park → Exit.
