Jingji Hall in Yigang Village, Tonglu, Zhejiang

Jingji Hall is located in a small alley on the west side of Yigang Old Street in Fengchuan Town. According to research, it was built in the seventh year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty by the ancestors of the current residents, who were merchants at the time. Facing east, it covers an area of 528 square meters. With a hard mountain roof and horse-head brick walls, this brick-and-wood structure consists of a three-room, two-corridor, three-entrance main house and two flanking houses, all of which are multi-story. The main house has a width of 13.3 meters, with a large stone-framed gate in the center. The first entrance hall has a depth of 4.35 meters with five purlins and three columns, and a two-sloped hard mountain roof. The courtyard is paved with bluestone slabs and features two large water jars for fire prevention. The two-story side buildings on either side are connected by a corridor, forming a "walking horse building," also with two-sloped hard mountain roofs. The courtyard's surrounding decorations are ornate and well-preserved, with double eaves. The second entrance hall has a lattice ceiling and a front corridor. The beam frame consists of five beams with double steps in front and back. The hall has a depth of 7.5 meters with seven purlins and a two-sloped hard mountain roof. A partition wall separates the second and third entrance halls, with a large stone-framed gate in the center. The floor of the third entrance hall is 0.14 meters higher than the second, with a front courtyard featuring two hexagonal Sumeru stone bases and double eaves around it. The two-story side buildings on either side have two-sloped hard mountain roofs and a depth of 3.10 meters with three purlins and two columns. The side rooms have solid stone slabs as sill walls. The third entrance hall has a lattice ceiling with an octagonal pattern and a front corridor. It has a depth of seven purlins and five columns, with a two-sloped hard mountain roof. Two flanking houses are built along the south wall of the main house, accessible through side doors from the main house. There are four rooms in total, each with the same depth of five purlins and two columns. The flanking houses each have a courtyard paved with stone slabs, with simple carvings and decorations. Below the south wall of the flanking houses is a small alley paved with pebbles. The entire building is well-preserved, with a large volume and ornate carvings that are also well-maintained. The wooden columns all have stone bases, some of which are carved, especially in the main hall. As part of the county-level historical and cultural district, it has certain cultural relic value and representativeness. It is a key cultural relic site in Tonglu County.
