[Tsuru City] Kanayama Shrine

7 minutes walk from Tanimura Station on the Fujikyuko Line. Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, is home to many shrines, but this time I went to Kanayama Shrine. Beyond the impressive torii gate were several steps of stones made from lava. It only took 1-2 minutes to climb up. At the top of the steps, the shrine and a large cedar tree stood majestically. When I closed my eyes, I could hear the birds and insects chirping, which was very soothing. The townscape was also very old-fashioned and it was pleasant to walk around!
