[Yamanashi Prefecture] Tahara Falls

Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This is the waterfall that Matsuo Basho wrote about in his poem "The icicles are powerful, and the fish floats down the falls." Tahara Falls. It was even better than I imagined! There was also a stone statue of Matsuo Basho, and it was wonderful to see him wearing a mask. Next to the waterfall was a manual railroad crossing, which is rare these days! If you go to the mountains 5km east of the center of Tsuru City, you will find a natural hot spring, Basho Tsukimachi no Yu, so please go and check it out after visiting the hot springs!
