Tsukuyamakan 92-8 Yamashita, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture Tsuyama Castle Tsukuyama Park is a museum. After being the academic (literary) institute of the former Tsuyama Domain, it was moved to its current location on the site of the Sannomaru area of Tsuyama Castle in 1904, and has since been used for various meetings and events. There is an admission fee to enter Tsuyama Castle, but there is no additional fee to see the Tsukuyamakan. #triplucky2022 #museum

Tsuyama Castle Tsuyama Castle was started by Mori Tadamasa in 1604 and completed in 1616. In 1874, all buildings including the castle tower, mansion, turrets, and gates were demolished, leaving only the stone walls. In 1900, it was re-opened as Kakuyama Park, and in 1963, it was designated as a nationally designated important cultural property (historic site). There is an admission fee, but you can enter the turret and see the heart-shaped stone. I would like to go again in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. 17 minutes walk from JR Tsuyama Station. #triplucky2022 #castletouring

Mitsukuri Genpo Former House Located at 6 Nishishinmachi, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, this is the house where Mitsukuri Genpo, a Western scholar who was active during the late Edo period, was born and raised. It has been designated an Important National Historic Site, and has been renovated and opened to the public. Admission is free. #Tsuyama

Jyoto Mukashi Machiya (Former Kajimura Residence) This townhouse is located at 40 Higashishinmachi, Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, and the main building dates back to the end of the Edo period. The rooms on the west side were built in the Meiji period, while the two-story building on the north side, including the Western-style building, was built in the Taisho period. In addition to the building itself, the beautiful teahouse, storehouse, and courtyard are also worth seeing. You can visit for free. #Tsuyama
