Phu Pang Forest Temple

Wat Pa Phu Pang is under the Thammayut sect and is located in the northeast of Ubon Ratchathani Province and is approximately 120 kilometers from the city center. It was built in 1993 by Phra Thep Mongkol Yan Wi. (Son Analayo) who initiated the construction. The temple was granted a permit to build on March 30, 2007. The National Office of Buddhism announced the establishment of a Buddhist temple called Wat Ban Phaniat on August 18, 2008. The National Office of Buddhism announced the name change from Wat Ban Phaniat to Wat Pa Phu Pang on October 20, 2014.
