The Marriott in Xinjiang is a unique gem, with the only hotel operated by the Marriott Group in the region being the Sheraton Urumqi Hotel

Who would have thought that the Marriott Group, which has a strong presence everywhere, operates only one hotel in Xinjiang, which covers one-sixth of China's land area - the Sheraton Urumqi Hotel. Therefore, after driving back from the Duku Highway, I made a special trip to check in at the provincial capital to commemorate the experience. 1⃣🏨 The hotel is located in the northern new district of Urumqi, close to the Olympic Sports Center and Hongguangshan Botanical Garden☘️. It is not conveniently close to the city center or the ✈️ airport, and there is no subway. The surrounding area still seems to be under development, with incomplete facilities. If you want to dine out 🍴 or entertain, you need to drive at least four or five kilometers south. 2⃣ The hotel treats members with righteousness and friendliness, no need for heart-to-heart talks, and directly upgrades to a suite. The lobby is not large and a bit dim, but the design is innovative, with a constellation♈ combination of super high starlight chandeliers that change from time to time. 3⃣ The suite has a somewhat non-standard and even slightly odd one-bedroom, one-living room, double-bathroom layout, with an aesthetic online, bold colors, and quite artistic. 🌈 However, the living room and bedroom have different orientations and are connected by a corridor. The bedroom window faces west, and there is only a narrow strip of window, which makes it dim when the curtains are drawn and exposed to the sun when they are open. The main bathroom is surprisingly the same size as the bedroom, but unfortunately, it does not have a separate toilet space. However, the tropical rainforest system in the shower, set to the second gear of hot water, is very satisfying to me. 4⃣ There is no executive lounge, so the Mini bar is free, but only two bottles of drinks are available. The fitness center is on the third floor, not large, and there is no swimming pool. This is probably one of the reasons why it can only be branded as a Four Points. The next day's breakfast was arranged in the first-floor restaurant, nothing surprising, standard quality. Only the pomegranate juice, Kazakh salty milk tea, and local pastries make one willing to try. 5⃣ Overall, it is suitable for business travelers or tourists who have been to Urumqi multiple times and are not sensitive to location. Using Marriott points for redemption offers great value for money. 😝
