Xuancheng Museum | Telling the story of cultural relics and promoting 'Xuan Culture'

Xuancheng Museum is a comprehensive museum located in Xuancheng City, Anhui Province, China. It is a national second-class museum and a provincial patriotic education base. The museum was established in 1988 and the new museum was opened to the public in October 2017. The new museum is located on the bank of Wanling Lake at the southwest corner of the intersection of Shuiyangjiang Avenue and Xiangshan Road, with a building area of about 8,000 square meters. Xuancheng Museum, with the theme of 'Thousand-year-old County, Humanistic Xuancheng', displays the rich historical and cultural heritage of Xuancheng. The museum has a rich collection, including stone tools, ceramics, bronzes, gold and silver wares, jade wares, lacquer wood wares, calligraphy and painting, ancient books, etc., with a total of 4,763 pieces/sets of museum collections, including 20 pieces/sets of national first-class cultural relics and 52 pieces/sets of second-class cultural relics. The museum uses pictures, models, scenes and other auxiliary means to vividly reproduce the long history and brilliant civilization of Xuancheng. The exhibition content is mainly divided into 'Treasures of the Study', 'My Land, My Feelings' and other parts, showing the history and cultural heritage of Xuancheng as one of the four treasures of Chinese study. Xuancheng Museum is not only a place to display history and culture, but also undertakes the work of cultural relic protection and research, collection collection and custody, exhibition display and publicity education. It is committed to excavating and displaying the most regional scenes and events in Xuancheng area, promoting the historical and cultural heritage of Xuancheng, and also carrying out art exhibitions and foreign cultural exchanges.
