Huang Family Ancestral Hall in Huangjiabao Village, Yizhang, Hunan

The "Huang Family Ancestral Hall" was first built during the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of 337 square meters. It features three rooms in width and three sections in depth, with a brick and wood structure. Along the central axis from west to east are the entrance tower, middle hall, and sacrificial hall. The entrance tower's beams are decorated with high-relief carvings depicting the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, with vivid and lively character portrayals, beautiful forms, and balanced composition. The crossbeams above the two pillars of the main entrance feature openwork floral designs and high-relief carvings of double dragons and lions, which are realistic with flowing lines, demonstrating superb carving craftsmanship and exquisite techniques. These reflect the rich architectural concepts and fine carving artistry of southern Hunan's rural areas at that time. The main gate has stone door bases and thresholds, with side rooms on both sides. The second section is the middle hall, which has a skylight for natural lighting and corridor passages on both sides. The third section is the sacrificial hall, where the Huang clan members worship their ancestors. It is a key cultural relic protection site in Chenzhou City.
