Bingling Temple Grottoes

Bingling Temple was originally called "Tangshu Cave", which means "ghost cave" in Qiang language. Later it was called "Longxing Temple" and "Lingyan Temple". After the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was named "Bingling Temple" or "Bingling Temple" after the transliteration of the Tibetan word "Ten Thousand Buddhas". Bingling Temple is characterized by stone sculptures, relief pagodas and Tantric murals. It is known as one of the three major grottoes in Gansu along with Mogao Grottoes and Maijishan Grottoes. Bingling Temple is located in Xiaojishi Mountain, 35 kilometers southwest of Yongjing County, Linxia. Depart from Lanzhou West Bus Station and take the bus to Yongjing.
