Zadar | A pleasant surprise in Croatia, this ancient city is stunning

🇭🇷 Zadar is the oldest city in Croatia and the hometown of the famous soccer star Luka Modric. It perfectly combines historical sites with modern style. I only stayed in Zadar for one day, but this ancient city, which is both quiet and romantic, gave me unexpected peace and comfort. It is also one of my favorite small cities in Croatia. ⛪️ Zadar: Zadar is an ancient city with a thousand-year history. The entire ancient city retains the traditional ancient Roman city structure, including ancient Roman towers, city walls, city gates, and Roman-style roads. Zadar is surrounded by the sea on three sides and has the world's only musical instrument, the Sea Organ, which is also the highlight of the city. 🚶🏻‍♀️‍➡️Travel tips: One-day tour of the old town Zadar is a small city, and its main attractions are concentrated in the old town, which are within walking distance of each other. You can visit all the attractions in just one day. It is not as popular as Dubrovnik or Split, so I think this city is more like the most underrated treasure city in Croatia, with its unique understated beauty. You can wander around the old town, listen to the romantic Sea Organ by the sea, and feel the gentleness and comfort of this city. 🌟 You can visit all the attractions in the old town by walking around, and the most recommended attractions are: 📍 St. Donatus' Church This is a medieval round church, dating back to the 9th century, and is one of the oldest buildings in Zadar. It is now mainly used for concerts and festivals. 📍 St. Anastasia's Church St. Anastasia's Church is also known as the Cathedral of St. Anastasia, and it is the largest Catholic church in the Zadar area. It is a typical Romanesque church with an 800-year history. 📍 Sea Organ The Sea Organ is a famous art installation in Zadar that produces organ-like sounds through the action of the waves. It is a must-see experience. At sunset, you can sit by the sea and quietly enjoy the natural music played by the Sea Organ. 📍 Greeting to the Sun Next to the Sea Organ is a square with a circular monument made of 300 glass panels. The photovoltaic cells charge all day, and the collected energy can be used to create a fantastic light show at sunset. 🛣️ Transportation: 🚌 Bus: There are buses to and from Zadar from major tourist cities such as Zagreb, Rijeka, Pula, Sibenik, Split, and Dubrovnik. 🚗 Self-driving: You can drive directly from Zagreb to Zadar along the A1 highway.
