The former site of the Central Command of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign is located at No. 36, Zhengda Street, Zongyang County, Tongling City, Anhui Province. The Yangtze River Crossing Campaign, also known as the Beijing-Shanghai-Hangzhou Campaign, was a campaign in which the People's Liberation Army of China crossed the Yangtze River during the Third Revolutionary War. It was of epoch-making significance in the history of the Chinese Revolutionary War. The campaign, with its spectacular momentum, heroic combat achievements, and valuable combat experience, has been forever recorded in the glorious history of the Chinese People's Liberation War. Zongyang County, then known as Tonglu County (February 1949 to February 1951), is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River in southwestern Anhui Province, with the Yangtze River flowing through the county for 78 kilometers. During the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign, Zongyang was the outpost and the crossing section of the central army, becoming one of the main battlefields for crossing the Yangtze River. The Central Command was set up in the Chen Family Ancestral Hall at No. 36, Zongyang Town.
