An unexpected reward from the trip to Izu 🚡⛵️
#japanattractions
When going to Izu on this trip, we mainly wanted to go to Kawazu to see if we could see the Kawazu cherry blossoms in full bloom in time. However, we saw that it was too early to arrive in Kawazu, so we decided to go to Izukyu Shimoda, the last station of the Izu Kyuko Line.
Before arriving, I searched online for a while and learned that here you can take the cable car up Mt. Nesus to view the Izu Seven Islands and Shimoda Bay, as well as try taking the Kurofune cruise ship, so I decided to try the cable car first.
The cable car station is very close to Izukyu Shimoda Train Station, so it is very convenient to walk there. The cable car leaves every fifteen minutes, so you don’t have to wait too long before you can get on the cable car and head to Mt. Nezi. The cable car ride is short, about five to ten minutes, and offers a panoramic view of Shimoda City.
Because the weather was very good that day, after arriving at the Mt. Nezi Observation Deck, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Izu Seven Islands and Shimoda Bay. I have to say that the scenery you saw at that moment was really as poetic as daytime, and the vast sea view also made people feel It's very comfortable. In addition to the beautiful scenery, there are also attractions such as Aizendo and Kurofunemizho at the foot of the mountain. The Q version of the dragon horse elephant (it is said that touching its fist will bring good luck) and the sign are the ones with the deepest impression. There are ⚓️ signboards for world-famous cities and attractions, but unfortunately we may have arrived a little late and were unable to see the beautiful scenery of cherry blossoms all over the mountains.
After staying at Mt. Nesus for about an hour, we took the cable car down to board the Kurofune cruise ship. The walk from the station to the Kurofune boarding area takes fifteen to twenty minutes. Fortunately, we were able to catch the 1530 bus. According to data, the prototype of the black ship was the "Susquehanna" of the fleet of U.S. Navy officer Matthew C. Perry when Japan's Shimoda Port opened. The Kurofune will circle around Shimoda Bay for about 20 minutes. On the way, you can still get a close-up view of Bisako Island and the coast of Shimoda City. If you want to compare, I personally think that the scenery provided by Mingzi Mountain is more shocking.
Finally, if you want to visit the above two attractions, please purchase a discounted ticket for the cable car and Kurofune at Izukyu Shimoda Station in advance, as the price will be more cost-effective.
