Cement Walls and Tin Houses: De Zheng Coffee by the Big Road
Negative times negative equals positive, the new little shop on Kangning Street in Xizhi, De Zheng Coffee, with its cement walls and tin houses, cold metal iron pieces, and thick wooden doors, is a full-on modern industrial-style decoration. Right by the bustling main road, it creates its own unique space, which is very beautiful.
The De Zheng logo is very cute, using the mathematical formula '- - = +', simple line symbols outline the personality of the shop, cool and cold, but cleverly using imitation wood-cut surface tables, and wooden chair shelves, to add a bit of warmth to the space.
The space is divided into three areas: the first floor inside the shop, the mezzanine on the second floor, and the outdoor courtyard. The interior style is consistently heavy modern industrial, while the outdoor area goes for a white American style, with a more relaxed atmosphere.
The menu includes a variety of coffee drinks, as well as savory and sweet snacks. You can have a piece of Basque cake or a platter of braised snacks and fried foods, which are great for passing the time. But don't come in the middle of a big noon, the tin house is hot!
