The room was clean and tidy. We upgraded to a sea view room with a beautiful industrial style. It was so beautiful to listen to old records and look at the sea view. When checking in, they kindly handed us drinks and fruits. The front desk also had Fuji apples every day. Although they were not in the room, we were welcome to pick up two when we passed by. The downside was that the room was very small, the window could not be opened, and there were layers of doors in the corridor. I didn't know what to do when the fire alarm went off. It was a bit stuffy and we didn't turn on the heater. Overall, it was good. It was a few minutes away from central by boat, which was very convenient. Recommended!
Very small room with no amenities provided. Make sure bring your toothbrush and no kettle, cup too. 15 mins walk to city centre, not bad. But very closed to the rail station and intercity bus station.
The hotel room was neat. The breakfast is very good. We were here between Christmas and New Year's Eve and that meant that the bar on the ground floor was closed. The sky bar has a limited offer at much higher prices. The view (highway, industrial estate) is not a reason to choose the sky bar.
Perfect location near tram stations and lively streets. Lovely and helpful hotel staff, amazing rooms and good ammenities. It's a perfect hotel for small trips look nowhere else! Also rooms have great view of the cathedrals :)
We specially enjoyed the bath tube in the room we stayed. The location was also great, as you can connect directly to the shopping district. Staffs were very friendly and helpful.
The room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from.
Outstanding hotel and without hesitation I can say this is the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Europe to date. Wonderfully friendly staff, superb facilities and refinements and the rooms are presented to an exceptionally high standard. I would not consider anywhere else when returning to Ghent as this place was incredible
Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided.
There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central.
The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm.
There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸

DDr. ErikJAM Hotel Ghent was a wonderful experience throughout. The entire venue is just magical, and the renovated former army barracks are a big architectural success.
The location is excellent, halfway between the St Pieters Station and the city centre (it is a pity that tram T1 is temporarily rerouted for several years, meaning that your best option is to walk (along or through the splendid Citadelpark) or take a Bolt/Uber/Taxi. It is merely a 15-20 minute walk to the station, which is certainly doable.
The frontend staff at check-in was adorable. Totally professional, warm, friendly, and courteous. They provided extensive information about the hotel and its facilities. I loved the decorations, the furniture and all the amenities. I stayed there for 5 days, and I wish I could have stayed longer!
I also loved the rooftop bar ”Neko”, with a cosy interior and a wonderful outdoor terrace (although when I visited it was freezing, so nobody was sitting there). The small pool is also wonderful, but obviously more for cooling off on a hot day, and less for swimming lanes. Finally, I totally enjoyed the excellent breakfast buffet in yet another nicely decorated area, and enjoyed the professional and friendly staff there!

FFionaLin的貓咪The hotel is one stop away from Ghent's central station. Some trains pass through Ghent and then reach this station in one stop. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station.
You can take a bus, ride a bicycle or walk to the old town of Ghent (each has a different experience). There is a bus terminal and a Carrefour near the hotel (but the quality of fresh food in this Carrefour is not very good, I recommend Albert Heijn in the city center)
The hotel has a parking lot, and the lobby is shared with Ibis style (the price is similar, the rooms here are larger and have a small kitchen). The small kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, kitchen utensils and tableware)
You can take a train from Ghent to Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels (the one-way train journey is less than 1 hour). At night, you can also enjoy the beautiful night view of the ancient city of Ghent. It is highly recommended.

GGuest UserSint Niklaas was going thru a process of major road and town works. Confusing one-way systems at play gave me a flat tyre reversing back around the right way and hitting a bunch of stones popping out the ground near the kerb.
I think it would be nice to return once the town face-lift is complete... 🤔
Ibis, I thought you'd be better than that. €20 deposit for a kettle and no milk, coffee, tea, or sugar in your room on arrival.. 😒
The ladies working there were lovely enough to give my gf & I a smile 🥰 they know where to park and at what times to pay the machines at the car parks 🤓
Cheap and fairly cheerful but also stressful to load and unload. 🤕

OOcampoThe location is not in the city center but it can be accessed via bus from the Ghent St Pieters Train Station. Cleanliness is guaranteed and the service is superb. I would definitely book again if I ever stay at Ghent.
