Lovely welcome at reception. Really helpful with parking. The room was large, lovely and warm and had every thing we needed. The most beautiful setting for breakfast again with friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decorated Christmas trees. The hotel was in an ideal location for Bettys and the shops.

Overnight stay in Harrogate, hotel in a great location within easy walking distance of the town centre for shopping, dining etc. We opted of a king room which was very spacious with a huge bed. Breakfast had a great selection of food to choose from and the full English was excellent. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

An excellent 'home from home' stay and a great location. It's a short walk to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway. A warm friendly welcome on arrival and we were shown immediately to our room. Our room (No6) has a great view and is spacious and bright. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Tea & Coffee making facilities along with biscuits were appreciated. The ensuite bathroom was spacious too and had complimentary toiletries. The breakfast was lovely, so many choices to pick and the portions were generous. A great place to stay!!

The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring sights of Harrogate everything very nearby! From checking in and our room available early with welcome cookies which were warm and amazing to checkout the staff could not be more helpful! The room was on the third floor clean, tidy and well presented. The gym and spa facilities were all good and nice to use and relax especially on a Sunday evening! The breakfast was buffet with a selection of hot and cold options the parcel machine was my favourite fresh pancakes which were delicious! This hotel is huge but it's well maintained clean tidy and such an enjoyable experience for our anniversary!

Excellent stay. The hotel is ideally located if arriving by train. We arrived in the morning and were pleasantly surprised that we were able to check in early as our room was ready. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a roomy walk in shower. The only thing that would have improved it would have been some drawer space as it only has hanging space in the wardrobe. All the staff were helpfull and friendly. We had an evening meal and breakfast during our stay and both were excellent. We also made use of the leisure facilties during our stay. Overall would highly recommend and if we visit York again would definitely stay at The Milner.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise and very impressive. Both the rooms in the new wing and the old building were very satisfactory – spacious, clean, and offered great value for money. Personally, I preferred the new wing; it felt more comfortable and modern. It's about a ten-minute walk to the old town, and York at night is even more enchanting, especially the hourly chimes of York Minster – absolutely captivating! The hotel is just a stone's throw from York train station. There are many restaurants near the station, including York's largest Chinese supermarket and various Chinese restaurants and a cha chaan teng, which was great for satisfying a craving for Chinese food or stocking up on groceries. The old city walls of York are right next to the hotel, and on a clear day, watching the sunrise or sunset from atop the walls is incredibly relaxing. However, the hotel charges £39 per day for valet parking, which is seriously expensive. They overcharged us once, and despite multiple attempts, they refused to refund it. This definitely merits a bad review!

The hotel is very magnificent, the bar downstairs is great and very popular at night; the location is excellent, and the surrounding area is very convenient for dining and shopping. The room is a bit old, but it's OK; what's worth complaining about is the poor sound insulation, which affects sleep when there are many people downstairs.

This was our second stay at the Cedar Court hotel for a short break in Harrogate. Easy parking either in the hotel car park (for a fee) or on the road outside ( for free) 10 minute walk to the town centre. Lovely hotel with quiet comfortable room. Very dog friendly. Staff were all very helpful and friendly  Good choice at breakfast and sat in the lounge with our dog to eat it. Great value for money and will definitely be back

GGuest UserAn adorable hotel in York, I booked another night because we loved it and wanted to relax. It’s just a short walk away from the main old town Centre, wasn’t a problem even in the rain. Very clean and quaint decorations, love the 4-poster bed and the towel warmer. Also provides bathrobes, slippers and even a complimentary snack room. We could go grab some chips in the middle of the night if we wanted to. We didn’t eat, but we had some cocktails at the bar downstairs and coffee in the morning. Service is great.

BBonniegiftYork is a small historical city, this hotel inherits the city culture. British-style separate yard, tall black gate. Friendly uncle-level reception. The hotel is a bit old, the maintenance is very good, the room has a kettle, the necessary toiletries, the shower open in a variety of ways, and the small snacks are also prepared. Health is OK, the quality of the bed is also good. In short, it is a good experience

GGuest UserIt was an ok stay but for us we didn’t realise we booked when the football was on and the away fans had pretty much booked the hotel and to say it was noisy was an understatement. Staff were friendly enough but didn’t ask us if we wanted Breakfast or if we had stayed there before so seemed pretty sub standard and not really that invested in what they were doing. We had planned to use the pool but some local kids sneaked in and used it making it loud and unusable during our stay they were just causing problems and the hotel didn’t act. This is the biggest failing the hotel fails to act we had loud guests door slamming music playing loud football fans going mad till 4am and nothing was done about it. The beds were not that comfy as sadly neither of us had a good nights sleep on top of the noise by others the rooms offered no sound proofing. No air conditioning which is crazy in this day and age and not even a fan in the room, when we asked for one we just got laughed at and told good luck with that by housekeeping. This places lacks staff that care or take pride in their work. The bathroom had no fan so when used steam went everywhere and the water pressure and temperature was terrible it wasn’t overly clean so couldn’t use the bath. Only thing going for this hotel is it’s location but we wouldn’t use it again as the rooms need a lot of TLC and the staff need extra training more so on the communication front. Upon check out we weren’t even asked did we enjoy our stay as we wanted to raise our concerns.

GGuest UserI stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel. I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax. The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours. Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.

AAnonymous UserWe stayed here a few years before and really enjoyed our stayed so booked to come back for our anniversary. We were in the opposite side of the building this time and it was still delightful. We really enjoyed the separation of the bathroom from the bedroom with a little study area. The place was starting to get a little run down however. There was no handle on the toilet, and one of the bathroom lights didn’t work. Toilet roll was paper thin and the lights above the bed were perfect height for hitting your head when getting in and out of bed. Other than that though he we enjoyed our stayed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the restaurant food was delicious.

GGuest UserThere are many small roads to drive to the hotel. It gets dark early in winter, but fortunately there are not many cars. When you arrive at the hotel, you will feel refreshed. The environment is very good and the hotel layout is also very tasteful. The bed is soft but supportive, and it is comfortable to sleep. The breakfast restaurant has a beautiful view and several breakfast options are available.
