We had a wonderful stay at Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo. The location couldn’t be more convenient — just across from Kyoto Station, close to AEON Mall, and only a short walk from our car rental shop, which made our trip planning super easy. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They kindly stored our luggage while we traveled for a few nights before returning, which was a huge help. When we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Overall, excellent service and perfect location for exploring Kyoto. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort and convenience near Kyoto Station!

Super good place. Dont miss the breakfast line of this place. It's very delicious and have many type of food to choose. The onsen are good and clean. You can check the massive of people in onsen and the breakfast room from your room. The room is clean.

A decent old five-star hotel, about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. The hotel also offers a free shuttle bus to Kyoto Station, and the service is good. However, the breakfast for a five-star hotel was a bit simple. The price was also a bit high on weekends.

We booked a triple room, advertised with two single beds and a sofa bed. However, the sofa bed was absolutely impossible to sleep on. One side was high, the other low, and I nearly fell off in the middle of the night because the low side was also a slope! I really wanted to give a bad review just for this. How can anyone stay or sleep with facilities like that? My impression of Japanese professionalism instantly vanished! I recommend avoiding room 964 if you're booking a triple, and I also suggest the hotel takes action to raise the lower side. It's actually a simple fix; we ended up stuffing three bath towels under the low side just to make it tolerable for the last two nights. Apart from that, the overall experience was pretty good.

The hotel's location isn't ideal; its primary convenience is its proximity to public transport. You'll need to take a bus to reach most places, including Kyoto Station, despite a nearby bus stop. Breakfast was abundant but lacked flavor. Upon check-in, we were assigned an older room on the second floor and had to request a room change due to the extremely noisy bathroom exhaust fan. The gym charges a fee for each use, and the public bath, though clean, is quite small. Housekeeping could be more flexible; for our four-night stay, the room was only cleaned on the fourth day. Cleaning on the third day would have been much more practical. Furthermore, breakfast required selecting a fixed time slot with a voucher.

This is always my go-to hotel whenever I'm on a business trip to Kyoto. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and feature a huge TV. The location is incredibly convenient, with Kyoto Station right outside the hotel. Don Quijote (Donki) is just a stone's throw away, offering incredibly affordable prices and a vast selection of goods. Plus, you can enjoy tax-free shopping for purchases over 5,500 JPY. The room was free of any unpleasant odors. While there's a public bath on the 2nd floor, the in-room bathtub is almost as good, as it's incredibly spacious – I'd say two adults could comfortably sit in it. Waste separation follows the traditional three categories; just remember to peel off the labels from beverage bottles before putting them in the plastics bin. And finally, the air freshener – it's the best I've come across in any hotel. It lasts a long time and has a subtle, elegant fragrance.

The hotel is just one stop away from Kyoto JR Station; you step right out into it. There's also a bus stop right outside the entrance. It's very convenient for visiting attractions in Kyoto city. The whole place feels very new and modern. You're required to take off your shoes upon entering the hotel, and walking barefoot throughout the entire premises takes a bit of getting used to. They offer complimentary late-night noodles starting at 9:30 PM daily. In the mornings, there's unlimited Yakult, and in the evenings, free-flow ice pops. Both indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs) are available. However, since Kyoto likely doesn't have volcanoes, the overall quality of the hot springs can't quite compare to similar hotels in areas like Hakone. P.S. This hotel belongs to the same management group as Mizunone, where I stayed in Hakone last year.

The hotel is brand new, and both its facilities and the surrounding area are great. The room features a separate toilet and bathroom, with the shower and bathtub also thoughtfully partitioned. There's also a spacious public bath on-site, though I didn't get around to using it. You'll find various dining options and convenience stores close by. JR Sagano Line's Umekoji-Kyotonishi Station is incredibly convenient (with trains roughly every ten minutes, just one stop from Kyoto Station), and both the Kyoto Railway Museum and a community park are within 200 meters. Despite this central location, it's surprisingly quiet. (Photo 4, taken from the Kyoto Railway Museum's top floor, offers a good glimpse of the hotel's neighborhood). During our visit, we were also lucky enough to experience the local community's Tanabata Summer Festival (Photo 5). This hotel is truly ideal for a tourist stay. It was, without a doubt, the best hotel experience I had during my entire trip to Japan.

This is an absolutely wonderful hotel! The top floor features a lounge with stunning views, where you can catch the sunset and the entire Kyoto nightscape in the evening. The surrounding area is packed with dining and drinking options – you'll never have to worry about finding food. In fact, it's so incredibly convenient to eat out that the only challenge is deciding among so many delicious choices! There are also many charming little shops nearby, yet the area isn't noisy or chaotic, creating a truly pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Transportation is excellent, too. I particularly enjoyed the drinks and beer in the lounge; sipping one while watching the sunset in the evening was pure bliss. The hot springs were also excellent. It offers superb value for money, and I will definitely be back!

The hotel room looks almost the same as the picture. Unexpectedly, the bathroom is very narrow. It would be better to take a shower in the sauna on the basement floor. I've only been in the entrance. The password is specified in the coupon provided. The window is equipped to open a little. My room is blocked from the outside, but the inside air can circulate through the perforated ceiling of the hallway. Although the meals served every day have the same menu, they seem to be carefully prepared. I saw a lot of complaints about the crowded restaurant in the reviews, and it was easy to adapt because it was like a school cafeteria.
