Hotel near Independence Beach,Sihanoukville
With stunning views over the Gulf of Thailand, Novotel Sihanoukville Holiday Resort is a true beachfront haven offering contemporary accommodation, elevated dining with an authentic Khmer touch, and family-focused facilities, as well as direct access to popular and peaceful Independence Beach. Conveniently located for visits to Cambodia's stunning islands and just 2.5 hours from the capital Phnom Penh.

"Novotel Sihanoukville – My Honest Review I recently stayed at Novotel Sihanoukville with my family, and unfortunately, the overall experience was below my expectations. The first issue was the hotel's policy on outside food and drinks. There is a sign clearly stating that outside food and beverages are not allowed. However, it doesn't seem to be enforced. The corridor on my floor was constantly filled with strong food smells, and even my kids' room was affected. The smell became so unpleasant that I had to request the hotel to spray the room. I also noticed that some rooms appeared to have more than five guests staying together. I'm not sure whether the hotel allows this or whether it is being monitored properly. I strictly followed the hotel policy and booked two rooms for my family, so it felt a little unfair if others were not following the same rules. As for the food, both the seafood dinner buffet and breakfast were just average. They were acceptable, but they did not meet the standard I normally expect from an Accor hotel. The room itself was comfortable enough, but the bathroom ventilation needs improvement. Whenever someone used the toilet, the smell spread throughout the entire room because the exhaust ventilation was not effective. The biggest highlight of my stay was definitely the hotel staff. Every team member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. From the reception team to the restaurant staff and the swimming pool bar crew, they consistently provided excellent service. They were the best part of our stay. One major disappointment was the swimming pool. The water did not look clean, and it discouraged me from swimming. This was something I really did not expect from a Novotel property. Overall, I left feeling that the hotel has good potential, especially because of its excellent staff, but the facilities and overall maintenance need improvement. With better enforcement of hotel policies, cleaner facilities, improved ventilation, and higher food quality, I believe the guest experience could be much better. Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars."

"Apsara Resort Koh Rong is perfect for those who love a quiet, romantic escape. The atmosphere is very peaceful, especially at night, making it ideal for couples or anyone looking to truly unwind. However, if you’re after a more vibrant nightlife or lively evening vibe, I’d recommend staying at a resort located on Long Set Beach instead. The rooms at Apsara Resort are super clean and luxurious, and the quality clearly matches the higher price — you really do pay for what you get."

"This hotel is an absolute paradise, where you can forget all your worries! We were met at the pier and helped with our luggage (even though the hotel is a 3-minute walk from the pier and there's a paved road). Our family room for four was a two-room suite with two double beds. The only downside is that the white, ornate furniture, upon closer inspection, is quite scuffed. Also, the shower is only separated by a partition on one side, so water splashes onto the floor from the other. Otherwise, everything in the room is great. The bedding and towels are clean, there's bottled drinking water, and you can get additional water from the fridge at reception anytime. Each room, as well as the restaurant, has foot showers. The included breakfasts are delicious, offering fried eggs, pancakes or waffles, pastries, ham, cheese, sausages, rice or noodles with vegetables, and a large selection of fruits (mango, pineapple, orange, passion fruit, papaya, dragon fruit, watermelon). Lunches and dinners from the à la carte menu at the restaurant are also very good. The restaurant always has a pleasant atmosphere, sea views, and tables right by the beach. On some evenings, there's live music and a BBQ on the beach. Nearby in the village, there are other cafes of varying standards; the local ones are cheaper and tasty too, but the decor and service suffer. In the second half of our stay, we stopped looking for variety and only ate at the hotel restaurant. The hotel beach is simply magical! Super white sand, turquoise clear water! There were always enough sun loungers. There are free paddleboards and kayaks, table tennis, and giant chess. The pool has plenty of inflatable rings, toys, and armbands for small children, which I saw people also take to the sea. There's also a cool surf club with an artificial wave. It's paid (I think $25 per hour), but we each received a card for a free hour of lessons during specific times. Our teenage son was thrilled. The restaurant has board games. The hotel also offers boat and tuk-tuk excursions. We took a private boat trip with snorkeling, fishing, BBQ, sunset viewing at sea, and glowing plankton. We didn't take the tuk-tuk as we decided there was no better beach than ours here. There's a massage parlor on the beach, with massages starting from $20 per hour, bookings at reception. We really enjoyed the massage. I heard doubts from others about this hotel due to a road running between the hotel and the beach, but it's not at all bothersome, as traffic on this road is minimal. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful with any requests. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel; it's worth the money and has everything for a wonderful and comfortable holiday."

Everything was perfect for my trip to this resort. It was a weekend, there were a lot of people. The room faced the sea, heard the sound of the waves, the night air was cool, but unfortunately the decorative lamp outside the room was damaged, making it dark around the room. But overall everything was good.

We stayed in “Eden Beach Resort” and want to share our experience. Location is good because hotel has private pier, where the boat will take you from/to Sihanouk Ville. It was comfortable. I was impressed by the hotel green area as well 🌴 The hotel has their own water purification system, we drank tasty and fresh water everyday from reusable glass bottles. Unfortunately we had some inconveniences in the hotel during our stay there. Check in was a long time. We arrived on island 11 a.m. and waited check in 4 hours, 3 p.m. When we asked about a breakfast, we were told that breakfast not included this day, although previous hotels often went to meet us, and it was pleasant. Breakfast costs 12$ per person. Breakfasts was tasty but after few days I tired from it. I would like to pay your attention with strays. Cats and dogs were in diner zone, they are they itched and got in the way. It made Unpleasant impressions. I also want to say about some disadvantages about cleaning up rooms. In the morning time, when we spent time on the beach, our room wasn’t clean. If we went to walk, we asked the staff about cleaning our room. One day we didn’t ask about cleaning and we were left without cleaning 🤷🏾♀️ There were 4 towels in the room: 2 big towels, 2 small towels, which for face and hair (I think) but we used this towels for feet because there were no extra towels. Totally staff working is good. Especially was pleasant administrator from Russian (as well as I remember Alex, but I can mistake). He helped our friends immediately (they had a problem with a safe and ordered double cleaning room because there is a lot of sand). What about attractions? The beach is good, near the hotel is clean but you should be ready for sand flyers. Oh Jesus! We were fully bited by them. Therefore our skin was swollen. At the hotel you can rent a kayak. One day we paid 5 $ per hour. Then we were explained that it is necessary to pay only if there is the queue. During check out we were waiting checking the rooms about 10 minutes. It’s not good 😁 a lot of more hotels refused this process. Our final review. Despite the some disadvantages our weekend in this hotel left a good impression. Place is beautiful, good, calm. There is a small work to improve the part of the service and cleaning, as well as control of the state of the territory and animals.

We dont know where to start but we did enjoyed our stays here. This place captured our heart and we wish we knew it earlier so we can come and spend at least 2 weeks here. Our room was just a few metres away from the beach and the food and service here is 5stars. They deserve a recognition for the food in the sunset restaurant and the breakfast ♥️♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼💖💖💖 We already feel emotional leaving this place, this place captured our heart and we will sure be coming back, if only we knew it earlier 🥹🥹😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️♥️

Outstanding Luxury Experience – New Year Celebration (31 Dec 2025 – 1 Jan 2026) I stayed at this hotel to celebrate New Year from 31 December 2025 to 1 January 2026, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from all the staff. Every team member was extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating, making us feel valued and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel truly feels like a palace. Based on my personal experience, it is much better and more luxurious than Sokha Sihanouk Hotel and Independence Hotel, where I usually stay. It even offers the same level or more luxury than Try Palace in Kep. Every detail reflects quality—from the door handles to the bed, everything feels premium and well-designed. All facilities and equipment are modern, luxurious, and very clean. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, including a separate bathtub, shower/steam room, and toilet, which made the stay even more comfortable. One thing I really appreciated was the generosity: • Soft drinks and fresh fruits were plentiful and completely free • The breakfast for special for the New Year celebration, breakfast manu • They even offered free breakfast for my two children, even though they were over the usual free age limit — a very kind gesture The location is perfect, with what I believe is the best beach in Sihanoukville. The sand is incredibly clean, smooth, and soft—like ground powder—and the beach area is well maintained. I accidentally took their room key, the hotel staff were extremely understanding. They were not upset at all and kindly allowed me to return it on my next visit to Sihanoukville, which shows their trust and professionalism. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. It is far more luxurious than Sokha and Independence Hotel, and easily ranks among the best luxury hotels I have stayed at in Cambodia. I will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a true luxury experience, especially for special celebrations

My friends told me that this place is not what it used to be. I didn't like the manager's attitude towards me as a tenant. On the first day, I asked to extend my stay for one night, and he came to me without warning. I was eating at the time. Secondly, there is no soundproofing here. Every conversation you have will be heard from the hallway. Also, if for some reason you need to go to bed late, be prepared to be woken up early. The bedding really leaves something to be desired, but I had my own bedding. The kitchen area had good ventilation. All the dishes are provided. There is a pot, but no stove. My sink drain was clogged with someone else's hair. It had been there for so long that mold had formed on it, but no one was going to clean it up, so I did. I'm not a pig, and I'm not going to live in filth. The bathroom is extremely small. Bathrooms like this need a different kind of renovation, not the one that's currently being done. What upset me the most was the moment of my eviction. I notified the manager of my departure time a day in advance. It was fixed. He asked me twice because I wrote a complicated sentence in English. I should have used simpler English. But the next day, when I was checking out, I asked to be escorted to my car because I had a lot of bags. But the manager said he was not at the hotel and there was no one there at the moment. No one could help me. I am a strong girl. It is not difficult for me to cope with this on my own. The problem was that when the car arrived, the security guard said he would not allow me to load my belongings into the car without confirmation of my eviction. And I wasted my time waiting for clarification of the circumstances. On the positive side, I liked that the pool was always warm and very large. There is also a shopping center nearby.

Not worth it! The stuff is really amazing and helpful, however the place is not worth visiting. The nature, beach and activities are below average and do not match the luxury price the resort is charging. It is also near to a kinda port so you will see cargo ships passing near the island. You can see rubbish floating in the water around the island as well. The food is also average and overpriced. A papaya salad cost 20USD. For comparison it worth 2.50USD on the mainland. Another example, the resort car service ask 90USD for 30km ride. For comparison, the taxi from Phnom Penh to Angkor Wat with a distance of 320km worth 80USD. On my personal opinion, there is noting much to see and do on the island, and definitely nothing that justify the price.
