The location is convenient for visiting morning markets, night markets, and durian stalls. It's a bit far to walk into George Town, so taking a taxi is the best option.
The bedding and towels are clean and comfortable.
The renovation smell varies among the three rooms, it's a matter of luck. The room my parents stayed in had a strong, eye-stinging smell when they first entered, but it became less noticeable after ventilation and air conditioning.
The sink in the hallway had severe backflow and a terrible smell, so we basically didn't use it. We kept the stopper in and let it soak to block the odor.
They don't clean the room unless you specifically ask the front desk. A deposit is required, and since we didn't have Malaysian Ringgit, we paid in RMB. Check-out was very slow, as they needed to inspect the room. When we checked out early in the morning, we were the only ones, and it took half an hour to complete the whole process for three rooms.
In Malaysia, people typically go barefoot indoors, so no slippers are provided. If you don't like that, you'll need to bring your own.
Location is good, right in the centre & within walking distance to eateries & shopping. Close nearby there’s the Hin Depot, it’s like a weekend flea market.
Hotel Service was great, the room that i booked was rather small, city view facing but sun was strong and day time, was abit hot as room window facing the sun. Going green is good, and water dispenser is provided on every floor for our refill. Can i suggest the bottles provided to have a wider opening as when refilling was rather difficult to avoid any spillage, especially taking the hot water
Hotel deco is very festive.
View from the apartment was amazing and just need to look through the window and you see the blue sky and ocean. Just that the apartment they gave us has 3 rooms and if you book 2 rooms they will locked up the one of the room. The issue is that when we checked in they just let the 3rd room open and we thought we could used it until the security guard came and knock the door and said he has to lock up one of the rooms.
I wasn't expecting this level of comfort and amenities for this price.
The room was very clean and had everything you need, even an EV charger. I managed to get help from security to help access it. There's convenience store next to reception too, if you need to grab something.
The location is perfect too, it's a walking distance to many eateries and bar.
I'm not sure if this constitutes a negative but I find the parking very narrow. You'll need to make a few spiral towards level 4 and every point of the way, I felt I will probably scratch the car along the way. Even the turning once you reach the actual carpark is very tight.
Very new building along Macalister which is a foodie stretch. The room had most things we needed. Only missing the laundry machine. Comfortable size for 4 guests. The sunrise view was stunning, can also see the sea from afar. We drove and parking was adequate. Mostly on 5th flr up.
Checking in was effortless as there's a reception that handles the issue or keys n return. It's like a hotel. Even though there's only 4 lifts serving 30+ floors, we didn't't have to wait too long each time. Do check out the pool even if you are not swimming as the day and night views are amazing. Worth a stay just for the view. Hopefully the standard can be maintained.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which really made the experience pleasant.
This hotel is right next to a seaside plaza, which is lovely for an evening stroll. Many locals also hang out there. It's about 1-2 kilometers from central attractions like the Blue Mansion and Mural Street. Walking there can be quite hot, and a taxi costs around 8-15 MYR. The hotel has a pool, gym, and kids' play area. Although it has a more retro, Nanyang-style vibe, it offers all the necessary amenities. The downsides are: first, the Wi-Fi is very unreliable; second, the breakfast isn't great (doesn't match the price); and third, the duvet covers were already yellowed. We, two adults and two children, had no problem staying in this room. Overall, it's still good value for money.
We were a bit nervous after reading the reviews online but we had a really excellent stay. The rooms were super clean and modern with a beautiful sea view and the bed was really comfortable. The rooms had a kettle with teas, a hairdryer and iron and the shower was lovely and hot. Great AC too. The pool was lovely with a beautiful view of the sea and very nice and peaceful. The location was also great with a huge food market right opposite. Overall a really lovely stay
A relaxing stay and the location is tops. My go-to hotel each time I come to Penang which is often. Service at reception & the bell boys were very polite and professional. I appreciate the free buggy rides from the hotel to Gurney Plaza. There was beautiful Christmas decorations in the lobby and the buffet breakfast restaurant which lent a festive feel to the Season.
This time around, the only adverse feedback is that I am unsure if any vacuuming was done for my 3 night stay. I only asked for the room to be cleaned once after my 2nd night but a loose piece of long white thread in the middle of the carpet which was there for the past 2 days/nights remained in the same spot after the room cleaning was done.
Location : This location is very superb. The seaview was astonishing. Food stalls are everywhere nearby.
Services : Arrived late night to check in. The receptionist is not that helpful and not explaining much. Got some issues with breakfast where my room suddenly not breakfast included while we paid together for it when booking. Try to explain to the Indian F&B manager but at first he refuse to trust me and ask me to go to lobby. Thanks to Mr Vincent he sincerely apologise for the misunderstanding from the system. To the Indian F&B manager, you need to learn to apologise sincerely from Mr Vincent and learn some manners as I heard you talk bad about other customers as well.
Food : Not much choice but the food was good.
Overall, will be coming back in the future and I wish the services will be a lot better. TQ

GGuest Userthis hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.
GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the amenities I needed. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which really made the experience pleasant.
GGuest UserThis hotel is located just outside the center of Georgetown, making it very convenient for getting around. There's a shopping mall and supermarket right next door, which is great for dining and shopping. The breakfast selection was extensive, and the service was very well-organized. Our room faced the sea, offering a really nice view. The hotel itself is a bit older, but the facilities are well-maintained, and the room was relatively quiet. We happened to be there during the major Indian festival, Thaipusam, and Magazine Road in front of the hotel was incredibly congested. I'm not sure if it's always like that, but if you're in a hurry, you'll need to call for a taxi at least 15 minutes in advance.
GGuest UserI had booked the room at a higher rate with breakfast. However, the booking ended up without meals (breakfast). I had a complaint that we broke the wash basin. On that day we left the room at 6 am and returned at 4 pm. We had used the wash basin before we left it was in good condition. Upon receiving a call from the hotel saying that we need to pay for the broken basin, we inspected the same to find the breakage which had occured in our absence. The cleaners also left a access key in the slot, which purportedly was to activate the air con in our absense. The Hotel had changed the room for us. Nothing was informed on the claim for the breakage when we checked out today
XXiaotuzijiadexiaopangmiaoFacilities: The hotel has complete facilities, everything you need is there.
Hygiene: The hygiene is good, no obvious oversights.
Environment: Facing the Strait of Malacca.
Service: They helped with our luggage.
As an antique hotel, its value for money is truly excellent. You can stay for just over 1000 [currency unit]. Online, the Heritage Wing is more recommended, but because of its age, we chose the newer Victory Annexe. Before checking in, I saw some online reviews and was a bit worried, but after experiencing it firsthand, I found it to be quite good. First, upon arrival, the staff at the entrance were very attentive. When our car pulled up, they helped with our luggage, and the luggage was even delivered to our room. When checking in, there was a Chinese-speaking person at the front desk, but it seemed most could only speak English. However, simple English was fine, and they also used gestures, making the process very smooth. The room assignment was also quick. After checking in, the hotel balcony faced the sea. This hotel is quite popular, with all kinds of nationalities, but there was no obvious favoritism towards Caucasians or discrimination against Chinese. Perhaps because I'm someone with strong boundaries, every staff member I encountered smiled and nodded in greeting, which even made me feel a bit shy; there was no coldness. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the Blue Mansion. You can go for a city walk when you step out – still highly recommended!
AA. YusoffAngsana Teluk Bahang is always the best! My family & I have stayed here a multiples times and we’ll definitely keep coming back for future stays. All their spacious and tastefully decorated rooms are sea-facing and offer gorgeous view of the Melaka straits. This hotel is located in a less busy area hence rendering the ambience to be quiet and peaceful throughout the property. All their staff be it from the reception area to recreational/pool area to dining to housekeeping staff are warm, friendly and helpful. A special shout-out to Mr Aiman from the reception department who demonstrates exceptional hospitality and professionalism in taking good care of my family as usual. Their breakfast offers a good spread and some dishes are quite delicious as well. Thanks Angsana. Looking forward to staying at your hotel again soon!
EEveGHotel was clean and service was very good. Room was large and comfortable . Swimming pool on eleven floor is a plus on hot days. Good view of the town and the sea from our room.
Strategic location in the heart of Georgetown. Close to Komtar, First Avenue Mall and Pragin Mall. Short walk to Cecil Market and Chowrasta Market with many eateries nearby selling Penang local delicacies.
RRubyNestled on Batu Ferringhi Beach, this hotel boasts expansive pools, a private beach, and comprehensive family-friendly facilities, making it ideal for families and those seeking relaxation. The hotel has a distinct resort vibe, but its location is a bit far from the city center, requiring a taxi to get to George Town. If you're looking to enjoy the sun and beach rather than walking tours, this is a perfect choice.
We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a family room, giving the kids their own beds. It was very spacious and we were extremely satisfied!
The resort offers a wide array of activities; we stayed for three days and participated in quite a few of them.
Highly recommend!
GGuest UserLarge rooms with minimalist decor means there are huge empty spaces. Ideal for families and there are quite a lot with lots of kids in pool. No coffee or tea making in rooms but you get 2 drink vouchers a day to redeem coffee or pretty cocktails. Housekeeping could be better. I was there for 5 nights and the room was not made up on 2 occasions by even 4pm. Had to call them. Cleanliness could be better. Otherwise a pleasant stay. Only less than RM10 and 10-15mins from Sho to Georgetown. Not an issue on location.
AAnonymous UserMy stay with OZO Penang was truly awesome! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel facilities were well-maintained and comfortable, perfect for both relaxing and getting around the city.
The breakfast spread was a real highlight, a great variety ranging from delicious local dishes to a lovely cheese platter. There was everything from a freshly prepared egg station to a fun ice cream corner, so there was something for everyone. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely recommend OZO Penang to anyone visiting Penang.
