Very close to the airport, I mainly stayed here for a layover to Mexico, and it was incredibly convenient. The soundproofing was excellent too! Next time I'm on a business trip to Mexico, I'll definitely choose this hotel again for my layover.

Everything about my stay was more than fine except for two issues. I had already informed hotel management that I would be proposing that night, and I specifically requested a non-connecting room with a decent view. Despite this, I was given a connecting room and placed next to a group of friends who were extremely loud throughout the night. I tried contacting the reception multiple times regarding the noise, but no one answered for nearly two hours, if not more. I also experienced an issue at the restaurant during breakfast. I tried to explain to the waiter that my reservation already included breakfast for two people that day. He informed me that I could order anything from the menu. However, I was later surprised with a bill exceeding $100 and was then told that the breakfast-for-two benefit only covered $50 of the total.

My stay at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles was quite a unique experience. I absolutely loved the grand historic architecture—the building is stunning and full of old-world charm, making it feel like stepping back in time. However, some aspects of the stay were less impressive. The breakfast was a bit underwhelming and repetitive, and it was sometimes difficult to get help from the staff. I often had to go down to the reception myself to get a bottle of water each day, which was inconvenient. The location was also not ideal for first-time visitors to the city. The surrounding downtown area did not feel very comfortable to explore, especially at night, and compared to other downtown areas we have visited, it felt less welcoming and not safe. The hotel definitely has a very distinctive atmosphere—beautiful, historic, and at times a little strange and eerie, especially in the basement area where the pool and gym are located, which adds to its character. Overall, it was an interesting stay mainly because of the incredible architecture and history of the place.f

Facilities: The best motel I've stayed in. The room was very spacious. Cleanliness: Super clean and tidy! Environment: Very quiet and safe. Service: The front desk staff were great. It's very close to LAX and offers a free, frequent shuttle service. Parking is also convenient. It was really easy to pick up a rental car at the airport and head straight here.

I was very satisfied & pleasantly surprised after reading some of the older comments. It's really sad that some people are so harsh but... I was very satisfied except for the lack of hygiene products. I accidentally forgot mine... Woke up late after a late night at Knott's & unfortunately missed the breakfast & actually can't remember if I was able to get any coffee before I left. My only other issue was when, I initially was making my reservation, I needed to ensure that we were getting an ADA room as paid for & was hoping to get one on the first floor. It's a good thing I did call because the elevator wasn't in service & the first CS agent wasn't able to find a way to even find my reservation. I called back & when I spoke to a different CS agent, there was no problem, we received the first floor ADA room & us Disabled Vets were able to maneuver easily in/about/out of the room. Thank you to all of the staff who went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable!! I'm in the process of booking two more stays here for the Military Tribute Days at Knott's!!

Perfect First Night After Landing in LA We chose the Hyatt House for our first night arriving at LAX, and it was the perfect decision. After a long flight, the free 24/7 airport shuttle was a lifesaver. Check-in was smooth, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to unwind. Waking up to the free, extensive breakfast made our morning transition into our LA vacation so easy and stress-free. The location is also great for grabbing any last-minute travel essentials. For a comfortable, convenient, and great-value first night, this hotel is an excellent choice. Highly recommend for anyone starting their trip!

Plus: This is a good, clean, classic highway motel. Check-in went smoothly and the desk clerk was very pleasant. The room was comfortable, of good size. The bed was super-comfortable, so I had a good night's sleep! The hotel is in Victorville a small city in California's ”High Desert”, which is known as a way-point on the famous ”Route 66” which many decades ago was the major road connecting America's mid-west to its far west. Victorville is also the home town of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans who had a famous cowboy TV show long ago. Minus: Lots of highway noise. But the most negative thing about the motel is that it is impossible to contact the hotel itself by telephone to confirm issues such as late arrival. Booking companies deliberately hide the true contact information, redirecting customers to an overseas call center that knows nothing about the hotel and is heavily accented to the point that communication was virtually impossible. Although an internet search brings up a phone number from several different sources, that phone number is no longer for the hotel, and gets answered by someone who is clearly tired of telling people that the phone number is NOT for the motel. In the end a family member who lives in a nearby town had to stop by and talk to the front desk in person. To add further confusion, the hotel goes by various names: ”Hotel Avenida”, ”Quality Inn”, and ”Oyo Rooms”. (This last name appears to be the result of its recent acquisition by the notorious south Asian Hotel group. Sadly this probably means service degradation will follow) Good customer service is all about ”the people”. It is dependent on positive contact between a business's staff and customers. The policies of companies like Oyo that work to destroy human contact help ensure bad customer service.

I stayed here for one night right before flying back home. The airport shuttle service was excellent, and I was able to check in smoothly even late at night. However, it seemed like I was assigned a room that someone had checked out of that very day, as the room hadn't been cleaned at all upon my arrival. The bedding was unmade, there were leftover food items on the desk, and towels were scattered in the bathroom. When I inquired at the front desk, they mentioned that the check-in policy states that rooms are cleaned every other day, so I just accepted it. But having to pay and sleep in a dirty room, especially for just a single night's stay, was a really unpleasant experience.

Ideally located in the city centre, making it very convenient. The hotel’s ground floor is beautifully designed, and for drinks, there is also a rooftop bar (with another bar directly opposite the hotel). The staff are extremely helpful. I really loved my stay.

GGuest UserMy wife and I visited Catalina Island for our 28th anniversary — our first time back since before we were married in 1997. We chose the Catalina Canyon Inn specifically for the pool, jacuzzi, on-site restaurant, and shuttle service. Their website is very nice and seemed like a perfect match for the occasion. Unfortunately, very little matched what was advertised. Shuttle: The shuttle was not waiting at the Catalina Express port when we arrived on the last ferry Saturday evening which was unexpected. Four of us were left waiting in the dark for about 20 minutes until the other couple called the hotel. The driver was friendly and apologized, but this set the tone for the weekend. The shuttle was consistently unreliable throughout our stay. They tell you to call the driver directly, but he often didn't answer. You'd end up having to call the hotel instead, and the shuttle only seemed to come after someone went inside and told the front desk in person. At one point we waited 45 minutes. Some guests got frustrated and just decided to walk, but the hotel sits at the top of a steep hill — not a realistic option, especially for older guests like us. Their website suggests the shuttle runs regularly, but that was far from our experience. Restaurant: We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 PM Saturday and were turned away, even though their website says they're open until 8:00 PM. We had to rush down the hill to find dinner to-go in town before the shuttle stopped running at 8:45. It was a shame we didn't even have time to stay and eat on our anniversary or face having to trek up that hill. The next morning I mentioned this to the restaurant owner, who insisted they closed at 8:00 and that she was there. She then told us the restaurant closes at 2:00 PM on Sundays — so dinner there that night wasn't an option either. She was very friendly though I must say. On Monday we finally had breakfast before checkout. The food was mediocre and didn't match the glowing reviews at all. The prices were also odd — $12 for mozzarella sticks, $20 for nachos, but only $11 for pulled pork sliders, which you'd expect to be the pricier item. The pricing just didn't add up. While we were there, another couple was turned away at 1:30 PM because the restaurant closes from 2–4 on Mondays. We could feel their frustration. Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi we were looking forward to was covered up and converted into a gazebo with chairs. At first we couldn't find it but yea. No mention of this on the website. Room issues: The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. The front desk told us we can mention it to housekeeping, who didn't come until after 5:00 PM. We got the soap and a couple fresh towels. The towels themselves were thin and didn't dry well overnight so fresh ones were sorely needed to get at least one shower in with soap before we had to leave the next day. The TV didn't work at all, and the microwave was unplugged — though I was able to fix that myself. The hotel also doesn't offer complimentary coffee, which is standard at most hotels we've stayed at for half the price. The good: The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the balcony was a nice touch. The room was quiet. Bottom line: The website gives a very different impression than what you actually get. Between the unreliable shuttle, limited and unpredictable restaurant hours, missing amenities, thin towels, and no coffee, this was not the anniversary experience we hoped for. I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to downtown so you're not dependent on a shuttle and stuck with limited options. I think we need to redo our anniversary. It was a miss for sure.

HHanjiangjunThe hotel is in Silicon Valley, and a Tesla factory is right next to it. After a traffic light, there is a small dining area with several Chinese restaurants. The room is not big, the size of a normal room in China. The hotel gave 3 small bottles of water, and the bed was comfortable. The room is not cleaned and cleaned every day, only towels are changed. Hot water, slippers, toothpaste, toothbrush, these are not available in almost every hotel in the United States.

GGuest UserThis is our second time staying at this Holiday Inn. Before checking in, due to our travel plans, we needed to store our luggage at the hotel for several days. We had inquired with nearby hotels but didn't get clear information. Today, with the help of Kevin at the front desk, we paid $100 to store three pieces of luggage for five days. This might be due to different policies, as we're used to the service in our home country. Nevertheless, we're very grateful for his help in checking and ultimately agreeing to store our luggage. The breakfast, as always, is excellent. We'll be staying at the Holiday Inn again when we return to Los Angeles in a couple of days.

YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

The breakfast has been changed to a box, which needs to be picked up at the front desk, which is not acceptable. Not recommended in the short term, maybe after the renovation is completed? KKhadija.Upon check-in, I was asked to pay for the room, which I did. However, I noticed the amount charged was higher than the total from my original booking. I asked the receptionist (I believe his name was Raul, though I’m not entirely sure) why that was. I explained the amount I had been quoted during booking. He then mentioned, almost as an afterthought, that a $150 deposit is taken at check-in. I told him this should have been communicated before processing the payment, as it’s standard practice to inform guests of such charges upfront. While I wasn’t pleased, I went ahead and paid. I also mentioned that I had submitted a request in advance for a room away from the elevator with a good view. He told me the hotel was fully booked, which confused me, since I had booked well in advance and included my request at the time. He assigned me Room 503, which was directly across from the elevator, not away from it. I didn’t want to complain as I had just traveled over 12 hours from London to San Diego and was extremely tired. I planned to grab some dinner and get straight to bed. However, the room was quite noisy—there was a lot of hallway activity, and the family next door had their TV volume quite high. I decided not to go downstairs and complain, hoping I could just fall asleep. Unfortunately, I was woken up around 3 a.m. by a crying child, and again at 5 a.m. At that point, I was extremely frustrated and went to speak to the receptionist on duty, Matthew. I explained everything to him, and he was very understanding. He said there was availability and offered to move me immediately…this was surprising, considering the earlier claim that the hotel was full. He moved me to Room 204. While it wasn’t far from the elevator either, he assured me it would be quieter since there were no large families on that floor. He was right—the room was much more peaceful, and I appreciated his help. At checkout, I saw the same receptionist who had checked me in and decided not to approach him. Instead, I spoke to Antonio at the other desk. I asked about the deposit, and he informed me it would take 2–3 business days to be released. Naturally, I wasn’t thrilled to hear this, especially after the earlier issues, so I shared my entire experience with him. He apologized sincerely and mentioned the initial receptionist may need additional training, which they would look into. Overall, the stay was decent for a short 3-night visit, but the start could have been handled much better.
