I am a restaurant manager with my own restaurant in Manhattan, NY. I like LA very much because I am a Laker fan and I love this city. But the breakfast restaurant in this hotel makes me feel discriminated against for the first time in America for so many years. Maybe I am an Asian face? ? ? ? ? I don't know. From the time I sat down to eat to the end, there were only a few tables of guests at 7 o'clock in the morning, and no one served me coffee or tea, not even a greeting from the waiter! ! ! Don't their wages come from the service charge of each table of guests? ? ?don't take me wrong. I just cannot understand how they can doing this kind of job. What makes me feel worse is that they will ask me what the nearby guests need to drink. Listen.

Front desk, housekeeping and restaurant are all welcoming and accommodating. It feels like home. Rooms are very clean and well maintained. The location is close to restaurants and Los Angeles International airport.

Good and reasonable for price, an issue is the shuttle took a long time to arrive at the airport when the front desk told me they were already on their way. But going to the airport is very reliable. Convenience store nearby.

I heard the safety of Los Angeles (especially around sightseeing area )was getting worse so I choose this hotel. I went to Disney land,dodgers stadium,and beaches, all by Uber. The room was usual,nothing special. The part that I didn’t like was very low Shower pressure. I liked the location of the hotel because it took only 10min by free shuttle bus from LAX and 15min by walking to get to in and out burger. I also liked the breakfast buffet, I could save money and time I guess.

Could easily be zero stars. Original room was 93 degrees upon check in, the air conditioning unit was poor by anyone's standard, we asked to switch rooms. They did not offer to come get our bags, or move us to a new room so we brought our luggage back down to the front desk. We were then given a second room. Again, no offer made to accompany us and see if the new room was up to standards. This room was 92 degrees upon entry. After a second phone call, they sent up staff to change the filters on the AC unit. That team told us the AC was functioning well and blowing cold air (it was blowing cold air as if you had a few ice cubes in your mouth and blew on my neck) and to use the blackout curtains (after a sort of condescending explanation of what blackout curtains do) and give it some time for the AC to work. We went out to dinner for about two hours and came back to a nice cool 87 degree room. We once again took our belongings back downstairs. We were then told by the front desk staff that since we booked a room with a king size bed all of those rooms faced the sun and would all have similar problems (why would that be an acceptable answer?) and they could do nothing more for us since they accommodated us once already. I had no idea their idea of accommodating someone was to put them in a room with the same problem that the previous room had but what do I know, I am not in the hospitality industry. We were then told that the hotel was completely booked so no further ”accommodations” could be made. We asked for a refund and this is the first time they reacted with some conviction, they were happy to let us leave. Must be nice to be able to turn away business. At no time were there any apologies, any remorse, just matter-of-factly let us leave. My wife and I don't argue or yell, we never feel its worth it, but we left angry and hotel-less on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. We scrambled to find a new hotel but the damage was done, they took our entire Saturday away from us, which no refund could ever compensate for, they temporarily took our joy to be in town on our own as we are parents and do not get much time away. We did take our business elsewhere, to a Hilton, they seem to understand that to relax you need a room that is slightly cooler than a sauna. We were able to salvage the remaining days of our trip. Also the elevators at the Freehand are old (charming?) and constantly in use because of the rooftop bar so it took us waiting for a few packed elevators to get up and down to the hot AF rooms which probably added to our level of frustration. But it was mostly the Sahara like environment of the hot room. Did I mention the rooms were hot? Also maybe use a free hand to open a book on what hospitality looks like, I think your staff may be surprised. (see what I did there?)

The Westin was perfect for our short stay before flying home. We chose it as it was close to the airport and the shuttle both to and from made it too easy. A short walk to a few dining options and also car hire within the building is a great option. There is also another car hire place just down the road. Overall very pleased with the Westin and would stay there again.

I arrived two hours before check in and was going to ask if it was okay to hang out in the lobby, I was pretty tired. The desk just went ahead and got me checked in. It was a pretty decent location. My only complaint is…this is going to sound weird but my desk was leaking water. It had a frosted glass top cover, I think there was a bad seal in-between the top cover and the desk top and some condensation was occurring. Water would drip out when I put any weight on it.

Hotel was very nice and staff was very helpful and friendly. The ART bus stops directly in front of the hotel making access to the parks very easy. You can also choose to walk which we did the first night but the ART bus is worth the $6 per day (or $16 for 3 day pass). Also had breakfast one morning at the restaurant which is a much better option than eating at the parks.

Very disappointing plus the 55$ a night parking on the hotel grounds not included in your booking and the breakfast buffet is 30$ per adult and 15$ per kid also not included in booking. Also the rooms were pretty worn out and the bathroom was horrible the bathroom bathtub clogged up with a foot of water for over an hour while I had two kids and two adults to shower. Also they wanted a 350$ deposit when I showed up that wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the booking. Overall 2 star out of 5 honestly. They did have a many market but it was 7$ for a water.

I have booked and stayed in Doubletree by Hilton Los Angeles Downtown for 3 night. it's great location. near Union train station and subway. The little Tokyo is just around the corner. also 7/11 store just opposite road. The staff is very helpful. I definitely will come back again.

Great location and reasonably priced, we staid 3 days before continuing our trip. Rooms are clean and spacious, reception is on the 40th floor, so to get to your room you have to go up first, switch elevator and go down to your room. Sometimes a bit annoying because of the waiting All in all a recommended stay

Location: There is a bus stop in front that goes to Disneyland. It cost $6 for a pass for 1 day for adult. Some food around the hotel. Room: size is good for 4, 2 adults and 2 children. 2 bath tub in the toilet. Good for family. Aircon noise is abit noisy. Otherwise all is good Breakfast: Not alot of option but quite good. The kids love to do the waffle in mickey mouse shape. Overall, good value for us.

Great location. Very convenient! Friendly staff. Hotel itself aged look and feel. Water was stopped between 11 pm to 6 am for the entire building, On the second day. Could not shower or anything for that day. We came in for a convention we worked till midnight and then had to leave following morning at 6 pm. COULD NOT SHOWER!!! The room wasn’t cleaned for two days, we had to call the front desk for each day. Not the great experience. Hope our next stay will be better…

Stayed here for a week while visiting disneyland with family. We had two rooms booked both on the concierge level (18). We arrived at the hotel early around 1pm and were surprised that both our rooms were ready for early check in. Spent time at the hotel enjoying the club lounge and pool that day. Hotel was busy with conferences going on and a convention going on at the convention center. It felt crowded but the hotel was properly staffed. We never had to wait for food, drinks, or elevators. It was only a 15-20 minute walk to Disney or a quick walk and bus ride over that picks you up right by the Hilton and drops you off right at the gates to Disney. The club level was open Monday-Friday for grab and go drinks/snacks 6:30am to 10pm and Saturday/Sunday for grab and go drinks/snacks 12pm to 10pm. Breakfast daily, appetizers in the afternoon, and deserts at night. Saturday/Sunday full breakfast buffet in the restaurant. The staff in the club lounge were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely return in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights to go to California Disney. It's a little far from Disney, so we were tired and decided to walk the streets at night after the park closed. However, there is a Disney parking lot (Toy Story parking) within a 5-minute walk! They take you to the park by bus for free, so it was safe and very convenient. The buses run regularly. As expected, there were a few lines to get on the bus around opening and closing times. As for the room, I'm concerned about the plumbing. It seems to vary depending on the room, but it was very difficult to adjust the shower temperature.

The front desk and service staff are cordial and very helpful. The room is clean, safe and comfortable, with complete facilities, the swimming pool is clean, and there is a tuck shop for snacks and drinks.

We added an extra night to our Disneyland vacation but were unable to book the same hotel, so decided to stay here. We checked in at the end of the night. Upon arrival, the hotel has music blasting from outdoor speakers, this didn't bother me, but I thought it was unique. There was also a sign in the front that said ”No loading or Unloading,” which did bother me, as we have 4 children and lots of bags, so it was annoying to have to go park the car first and then lug everything to the room at midnight. Once in the room, I noticed a letter on the desk that informed me that there was construction happening in the hotel, between the hours of 1pm-6pm. Our checkout time was 12pm, so I wasn't worried about it. The room was spacious, however our bed made a horrible squeaking sound. At 9am we were all startled by the sounds of drills in the wall next to us and the sound of cutting wood. I did call to the front desk to ask about the construction that was not supposed to start til 1pm, and the receptionist said she was unaware that the crew was even there that day (Saturday). The loud sounds continued and I never received a follow-up call. We wont be staying here again, there are plenty hotels in the area that allow you to unload in the front and wont wake you at 9am with construction noise.

This hotel was great for our stay here in California. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was extremely comfortable after a long day out whether around Los Angeles or a 17 hour day in Disneyland. The fridge was great bigger than we expected. We managed to store lots of bottled water and a few 2L bottles of juices with all our yoghurts etc for the mornings and during the day. Fridge is a great size for trips to Target which is across the street less than 5 min walk. Bathroom and other parts in the room we couldn’t fault had everything we needed for our stay to make it comfortable. As we left they were re decorating the halls, apart from all of this we wish there was stairs to each floor instead of just getting the lift up as we were in the 3rd floor room 355. Stairs would have been nice inside the blocks as there is only a fire exit stairwell to leave the hotel you cannot get to your room via stairs. Also great for parking a hire car as this hotel doesn’t charge for overnight parking too one of the reasons we chose this as our main location to go back and forth from saving us $350/$400 compared to competitor hotels around LA.

Great hotel! Has vending machines, ice machine, a mini store, and free breakfast!!! Lots of near by super stores, restaurants, and shopping as well.

You must stay at Disneyland Hotel when you go to California Disneyland. It is so convenient. I went out to line up at 7 am and returned to the hotel at 12 pm. I stayed there for two days. It was very convenient to use Gens+. California Disneyland is so fun that you can't miss it! Later, I played Universal Los Angeles. It felt similar to China, except that there was an extra sightseeing and Mario. Personally, I think that if you choose one of the two parks, Disneyland must be more fun, especially the Adventure Park.

First of all, location is excellent. You can reach Moscone center and Chinatown on foot. Vallet parking only. But, its cost is acceptable in the SF downtown. If your first time to visit SF downtown, be prepared with Google maps. It was full of one-directional ways and also full of prohibit signs. We enjoyed SF downtown and also nearby restaurants. Good stay.

Not far from metro and in Chinatown. The area is a bit dodgy at night though. Window curtains were quite dirty. But the bed is very comfortable and the view is great. I would stay again

Stayed here after a bad experience at a hotel down the street. Luckily found a good rate and was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in upon our arrival around 10am. Super helpful front of house staff. The room was huge for a standard room and the bathroom had great facilities. Bed was large and very comfortable, and really appreciated the walk in closet as well as fridge in the room. Location wise you are super central, with a lot of amenities like Starbucks and Walgreens just across the street. Maybe more of a SF issue than the hotel, but did feel a little uncomfortable being out in the area in the evening due to the large numbers of homeless on the streets - we saw on a few occasions people harassing guests coming in and out of the hotel, but was handled well by the reception staff. Main reasons for one star being knocked off was firstly the AC in the room. While the window was openable, it was quite unnerving to have it open on the 10th floor. We hoped the AC would compensate for this, however it would not go below a pre-set temperature level when we could’ve appreciated some cold air coming in. We did ask the front desk twice about this and they said they’d send up maintenance to manually change the limiter but unfortunately this never happened. The reception area also can become incredibly loud in the evenings with the bar having live music - there were times I could not hear the staff talking to me due to the volume. It also took a considerable amount of time to check in, at least a 10+ minutes process which began to be irritating if we had something to ask but had to wait behind large groups to check in. We also did not get bathroom amenities restocked on three occasions. These may seem like trivial issues, but for the price point of the hotel these should not be issues in the first place. Otherwise however we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend.

Overall it’s a nice hotel with very friendly staff. Very clean and pretty big rooms. Very convenient location. Definitely a nice and affordable place to stay in San Francisco

Without a doubt the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The bathroom door was hanging off its hinge and could only close 90% and the shower had non-functioning blinds on the window so there was no private way to shower. The room should never have been rented to us or anyone. We booked a room for a week at The Fitzgerald for GDC 2023. First thing the room was ready an hour later than check-in time. Not a big deal, but not a great start. We are then informed that because it's a busy time we are being put in a room in the lobby, not the end of the world but it without a doubt was the worst location I've ever been in. You can hear 100% of the noise all day in the lobby meaning no comfort or privacy for you in your room. Now once we got into the room we found a few issues, some stuff had been missed for a long time while cleaning, there was a bag over the smoke alarm. The room is located on the first floor with a window looking out into the street. One of the panes was cracked leading to essentially all street noise leaking into the room 24/7. But without a doubt the biggest issue was that the bathroom door's hinges was mostly torn out of the wall meaning the bathroom door could only shut part way leaving a large gap. I can't imagine why they thought it was okay to rent a room with a non-functioning bathroom door, but it is completely unacceptable. In the bathroom you will find that the toilet is put right up against another door which also leads to the lobby, again making the use of the facilities extremely uncomfortable. There is also a window next to the shower, but the blinds are broken and can't be opened or closed and instead are just stuck halfway. When we informed the front desk, we were told that ”No one can be out there” discounting our discomfort and acting as though it wasn't an issue and seemingly thinking windows don't open, and can't generally be seen through. We asked the front desk about swapping rooms, but as it's GDC they are booked up. So instead we informed them that we will be checking out and moving to another hotel. They said ”We know the room isn't great” still standing by their view that the room is up to The Fitzgerald standards, which I have no choice but to believe it is. They then also told us that because we booked through a 3rd party instead of directly through them their hands were tied in terms of issuing any sort of refund. Looking at their website their ”Check Availability” button links directly to booking(dot)com and the ”Reservations” button links directly to hotels(dot)com so I'm assuming they are trying to funnel unsuspecting people to 3rd party sites so they can then hide behind them when someone inevitably has an issue. So on top of the issues with the room it seems like they have some scummy business practices as well. I can only recommend not to rent a room from this hotel. Sure some of their rooms might be passable, but there is a non-zero chance that they stick you in the worst room you've ever had

Me and my husband traveled here July 2022. It is in the heart of SF right in front of the cable car turn around, which was so fun! Everything is nearby. Hotel was fun and modern. Staff helpful and friendly. We checked in 2 hours early for no charge. We booked through Priceline and got a great deal for downtown SF. We paid in full but when we checked in we were told we had to pay an additional 35$ per night for the ”urban fee.” We asked what that was and was told it was like a ”resort fee”. This is not a resort, no pool, no hot tub, no restaurant, no bar. We felt deceived which left a bad ”taste in our mouth.” We felt tricked into paying more than we thought. We like the hotel and honestly would have stayed here if the price was 35$ more a night. Why the deception?? BE honest with your nightly rate. We're not stupid!! The room is small but very nice and very clean. The only other complaint is SF is cold! After walking outside all day you would like to have cozy room. The room temp is set at 66 degrees F. It looks like you can change it... but you can't. It stays at 66 and no higher. Luckily there are cozy robes that they provide, which we needed. We also mostly went straight to bed everyday but it would have been an issue had we wanted to hang out in the room. Overall, we loved our stay here. I just hate dishonesty and deception of any kind. Can anyone just be honest anymore?

Stayed here for 2 nights for a friends trip. Good location in a nice neighbourhood. Not too far from main attractions. There’s no free parking, but a walking distance parking garage is available. Hotel is clean and staff are helpful!

Excellent hotel and staff. Melinda and Bianca on reception were incredibly helpful. The hotel was an oasis of calm in the bustling downtown of San Francisco. Breakfast and diner were good at the hotel, but there are so many good places within a blocks walk. Pinecrest diner and Lapisara eatery were excellent.

Close to Fisherman's Wharf and restaurants. The $30 daily ”hotel fee” seemed a bit much for a ”free” bottle of water and internet access. They could have at least included free coffee in the lobby. We did take advantage of the nice bikes, so we got our money's worth. Room smelled fresh every day and didn't have that musty smell you sometimes have after a few days. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Usually don't stay at Hyatt, but would definitely return to this one.
