Facilities: We stayed in a stand-alone cabin, which was fully equipped with a private bathroom, induction cooktop, oven, etc., but it was a bit dated.
Hygiene: The hygiene was just so-so, and there was a strong cooking smell in the room.
Environment: There's a communal kitchen, shared bathrooms, and a paid hot spring center (guests get a discount).
Service: We didn't really use any services; late arrivals check themselves in.
I stayed here with my mum and brother in a kitchen cabin. The cabin itself was quite basic and very small – fine for one night, but it would feel too cramped for a longer stay.
That said, the campsite itself is lovely and the swimming pools were an absolute highlight. We really loved them and would happily stay here again just for the pools alone.
Next time, I’d definitely upgrade the accommodation to something more spacious. An on-site café would also be a great addition and would really enhance the overall experience.
The room is very big and suitable for family living. The single bed room is very quiet to sleep in. The most beautiful thing is that there is a small yard in the room where you can sit outside to eat breakfast, watch the sunrise, watch the sea, and there are many seabirds flying in front of you. You can also touch the geothermal water when you walk out, and the room can also be directly heated and smoked
The location is perfect and really close to the lake. We did get some flies coming from the tap drainage. But once we figured it out we closed it up and it was fine. The views are stunning. The rooms were clean. Enjoyed this stay very much!
Hotel location is very good, the car can also drive to the door of the room, walk 3 minutes to Taobo Lake, next time I come, I will choose his hotel, the hotel front desk brother is very good

GGuest UserAlways a good overall stay at Wairakei, I’ve found they have a variety of rooms to suit all travellers and I’ve found the one that works for me. Got a great deal and it was a simple and easy stay. Will be back in future. Great amenities including the heated thermal pool and free parking.

AAlice BunGreat hotel stay with complete amenities for self cook dinner, located by the lake front with breathtaking sunset set view! And we have new pets for the day, cutie cat welcome us to Accent!
Overall is great except for the insulation around the house not strong enough as it can be quite cold during night ….
Highly recommended for families and groups of friends enjoy the stay here.
GGuest UserVery clean and has everything you need. Even has heater in the toilet and the bathtub comes with jacuzzi. Convenient parking on site. Has a balcony. Check in and check out was very quick. Location wise needs 10 min drive to town for food and 5 min drive to the lake! Can walk if you’re adventurous and weather permits. Would come back again!
GGuest UserThey are all very good. It would be perfect if they had a private bathroom. However, this is the only room we can book in that area, so we are very grateful!
