Separate the truly excellent Webster Grille restaurant from this hotel and you have ... nothing that recommends staying here. But the Webster Grille is expensive ($95 steaks and up.) So, there is a bit of a mismatch. Check-in took forever because they had one person at the desk handling a line that literally went out the door. Hotels know who is coming in and should plan accordingly. I was here 5 nights, and 6 days and got housekeeping service twice despite asking for it each day. One day they came in and emptied the garbage cans and threw some towels on the bed and tossed in a couple of Keurig cups. There are just too many other options to stay here. The beds and sheets are pretty good, but it's just a place to stay - no frills and poor service. I will look elsewhere next trip.

The hotel returned the room rate. Ctrip actively helped solve the problem. The only bad thing was the hotel reservation. The taxi is not metered, it feels a bit pitted. Use Uber. Don't let the hotel book a car.

We decided on the Monaco and headed that way with defeat in our hearts and sadness in our eyes. Upon arrival Jovan was there waiting for us with a smile on his face and kindness in his eyes. He greeted us and welcomed us in and immediately we felt hospitality wash over us like a tidal wave after our horrid adventure beforehand. We asked if he was willing to match the rate we found on a website and this sweet angel said yes! He might as well been covered in gold and sparkling with divine light because he was our midnight savior!!!! He gave us our keys after some pleasant conversation about past Air BnB experiences and set us upon our way to our luxurious room! The wallpaper? Great! The art on the walls? Fantastic! The alcove over looking the city?! MAGNIFICENT! 100/10 would stay there again and exchange pleasantries with Jovan!

It was a pleasant experience and we will stay in this hotel in the future for sure and will also try Avid Hotel in other locations. The hotel was clean, well maintained, the room was spic and span, the staff was excellent, parking of car was not an issue at all, next to O'Hare Airport and convenient from every aspect.

I visited the Warwick Allerton with a group of friends over a three night stay. The hotel is older, in the midst of a remodel. Our room was fine, appeared to be remodeled. It was clean, comfortable bed and furniture. Housekeeping had to be scheduled and we ran out of toilet paper before the scheduled service. Additionally our wifi was continually disconnecting. Alicia from the front desk offered to come up to our room, reset our wifi and delivered 2 rolls of toilet paper. She arrived within minutes of me talking to her. She was friendly and very helpful. The hotel charges a $15.00 daily service fee. The restaurant was closed for remodeling and there was no food on the premises. There may have been a gym, which we did not use. I fail to see the benefits of the facility fee and would rather just have the room charge be higher if the hotel needs to make a higher profit on the rooms. The hotel is in a good location for shopping and restaurants. The valet service was also efficient.

I came to Chicago in the peak of its expensive summer travel in June for an education/ business trip. As work didn’t pay for my stay, I didn’t want to shell out the costs for a hotel and opted for this hostel as a way to also experience some authenticity in my travels. I don’t regret my stay here, but there are a few things would have been helpful to know and/or would have made my day better. I booked a private king room, which was on the seventh floor. It offered a reasonable balance of comfort, privacy and value, which is what I was going for. It had the feeling of a college dorm room. There are a lot of complaints on here about the train noise and I do concur that it was quite prevalent and I am someone who used to sleep near train tracks and could normally sleep through trains coming nearby. I would recommend bringing some earplugs or a sound machine for your stay. I would also recommend some type of rag towel or extra curtain over the window as there is a train junction behind the building where very bright sparks occur and shine a lot of light at night. However, the windowsill was very deep and awesome to lean on or sit on and watch life in the city go by. Management: it would really improve your guest stay if you took a few steps to better soundproof your windows, such as sealing them better. Some heavy duty curtains on top of the flimsy blind would be very helpful as well in blocking both noise and light out. The bedroom had enough room for me to comfortably spread out and have a little workspace/desk to work at as well. The overall apartment had a somewhat functioning kitchenette, and simple living area that was shared with three bedrooms in the apartment unit/suite. The hostel had some nice shared areas – lounges where it seemed like a lot of social interaction took place, especially in the later hours of the evening. One of these is the café – dining hall, and it had some old world charm, and interesting architecture to it. As would be expected with a shared type of lodging, some extra time and uncertainty should be planned around your day. There is someone taking up the bathroom/shower the whole morning one more day and I couldn’t get in there before I had to leave. I ended up doing the bare minimum in the share lounge bathroom on a different floor. It is located in the loop, which is close to a lot of colleges and businesses. It is a short walk to the more high-end and tourist area of river north. There is also residential to the south. The block on which the hostel itself is located had some homeless tents set up including near the front door. Obviously, there can be some issues associated with a large city however, I did find it to be especially prevalent in the exact location where the hostel was located. In fact, one night there was a dumpster fire in front of the property because of all the trash that was collecting. Lake Michigan is located to the east and there is a large lakefront park that extends all the way no

I loved that it had an indoor pool for my kids to swim in, free continental breakfast and a good location. When we booked our trip, the price was $255 a night, but when we got there, I saw online it was $145/night which is more reasonable given all the issues we encountered. We got there late at night and didn’t have any issues checking in. The next day we went to use the pool and it was ice cold. My kids were in it for maybe 5 minutes and were done because it was too cold. I told the front desk and they contacted maintenance to see what was wrong. The table in our room was falling apart and broke when my one year old was under it. My husband caught it and put it back together. We contacted the front desk and maintenance eventually came and put brackets on the legs to “stabilize” it. We tried the pool the next day, and it was ever colder. My husband said it was colder than a lake. Contacted the front again and they would look at it. The A/C in our room was broken and said it was set for 65 degrees but the room was reading 78 degrees. The pictures of the pool area also showed a hot tub, which was not the case. I tried to use our phone to call the front about something and both phones were broken and not working. We also weren’t given our vouchers for the bar until the last day we were there. Overall it was disappointing stay for the week.

The hotel is in a great location, just on Michigan Road. The scenery is outstanding, and the lake view is great when the weather is good. Shopping is so convenient, you can walk directly to the water tower, where various stores meet your shopping needs.

Our six night stay was surprisingly quiet. Population was sp**** in The South Loop. And there wasn’t a close by mall or large grocery store. But the main attractions like the zoo, art museum, science museum can be easily reached by cab. By 10am, there are almost no cars on the street on the weekend. Felt isolated and alone walking on the street. The district at night has it’s dangers. Robbery is rampant; but at least you won’t be killed. Friendly advice from the hotel. The room rate is high yet didnt include room slippers or toothbrushes. Water bottle wasnt free; charges were $6 a bottle. But I did enjoy the Food Hall on the ground floor and prices were reasonable at $10 for a fresh large salad or $14 for a pizza. The ramen noodles wasn’t too good though. The meat was dry and 8 slices too many. The Food Hall is only opened when the hotel has high occupancy (I was told). There is a small refrigerator in the room. Free of charge. We asked for a late checkout and the answer was a clear ‘No’. Even with a Marriott membership, an extra hour was not possible. Our room was very clean and with a good view; floor to ceiling window. Very comfortable stay. Any improvements? The front desk lady could have been more welcoming or friendlier maybe.

This is a lovely building with much attention to detail in it's design. Our room was very nice with quality furnishings with one exception. We both felt that the mattress was extremely uncomfortable considering the higher price we paid for the room. Self parking is about 1/4 mile from the hotel entrance which seemed odd to me. There was no provision for a shuttle service. We ate one meal at the hotel - a banquet for the event we attended. The food was good but not outstanding. Overpriced for what we got. No free continental breakfast.

I’m writing this review regarding my recent stay at the Doubletree Chicago Wood Dale -Elk Grove on Friday, July 12, 2024. This was our final destination on our family vacation before heading home on Saturday. I will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!! Nor should anyone else. Upon arrival I asked if an upgrade was possible and the agent said no because they were booked solid for the evening (which I can understand) so next I asked the agent to split the room charge evenly between my credit card and my wife’s credit card (with whom I was travelling with) the agent seemed put off by this request and even asked my wife for ID after presenting the credit card with the same last name as mine which the reservation was made under. (Was this really necessary?) After the transaction was processed, he gave us 2 cookies we were travelling with 2 children he clearly was looking at and when I asked if we could have 2 more cookies for the kids, he said we had to share the cookies and we only get 2 cookies per family. I didn’t even know how to respond to his rudeness and just left it. We gave our children the 2 cookies. So next we enter the room #214 there were 2 large stains on the carpet as well as an empty space under the television which I assume once housed a microwave. (Pictures attached) Isn’t a microwave standard in all rooms? About five minutes later I entered the bathroom to take a shower just to discover that the room had no soap, shower gel or conditioner and only had 2 towels. I went to the front desk and asked for additional towels and the bath supplies. When the houseman arrived with the supplies, he gave me a ½ full bottle of conditioner and a bottle of shower gel and here’s something else I don’t understand the shower gel delivered was completely empty as well??? (How did he not know that?) He also didn’t even offer to remove the empty bottles from the wall and replace them so we just left them on the side of the tub. I had to call the houseman back to retrieve another shower gel. When he returned with that bottle of gel it was only 1/3rd of a full bottle?? He must have been getting them from another room and if they were booked solid that evening someone else got the same surprise we did when they wanted to take a shower. So next was the air conditioner we turned it on only to discover that it only discharged cold air out of half of the vents the other half did not work at all so our room never really got cold. (it was 90 degrees+) outside. So next we decided to go to the pool until the restaurant opened at 5pm. No go for the pool as the water can be described as “cloudy” at best. I can’t even guess what was in it to make it look that way. Next, we decided to go downstairs to the restaurant / lounge the lobby had advertised daily from 5p-10:30p only to be told that that area is not open on Fridays & Saturdays. Huh aren’t you are supposed to be a full-service hotel? What restaurant do you know that’s closed on Fridays & Saturdays?? Complete

The overall hardware and software environment is very good, breakfast can also be enough seats, may line up. Location 10 km drive to Outlet, very close to the city of Nebowell about 4 km. There are a lot of food and shopping there.

Located adjacent to the Drury Lane theater with easy access to main thoroughfares. Clean rooms, nice lobby, friendly service, and there's a restaurant & bar on site. Tho, we always order Chicago-style pizza be delivered to our room - Giordano's deep dish!

The breakfast buffet is really great, plus $6 can be delivered to your room. The hotel is very clean and the basic facilities are complete. The exchange rate fluctuates greatly every day, the Louis Bar is in the lobby, the drink is great, and the night is very socialist. Really a good restaurant, Devon is right next to it, the room on the road is very noisy, the hotel is very bright at night, you can always find your room, shine through the cracks to the curtains. It is recommended to live in the back room.

It is not very good, and business travel is recommended. The hotel’s Christmas setting has a snack, and a carriage ride around the hotel, unlike other hotels that have a whole tree. The most comfortable place is that you can easily see large forests and Illinois skylines by the window, beautiful!

Upon arriving at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Downers Grove, Illinois, I was greeted by a very friendly front desk attendant who kindly allowed me to check into my suite earlier than the scheduled time. Additionally, the toilet became clogged, and despite multiple requests—once in the morning before attending a conference and again later that evening—no one came to address the issue until much later. When a maintenance worker finally arrived, he handed me a plunger instead of resolving the problem himself, explaining that clogged toilets were a common issue due to the slow flush system. Moreover, after housekeeping eventually serviced my room, someone attempted to enter my room on two separate occasions without proper explanation, leaving me feeling uncomfortable. Upon returning home, I realized I had left my charger at the hotel. Despite multiple attempts to contact the front desk, my calls either went unanswered or I was mistakenly transferred to a guest’s room. This experience was the most disappointing I’ve had at a hotel, and I do not intend to return.
